MULTI-TRILLION DOLLAR FINANCIAL SCANDAL - 'This Thing Involves Everybody' (Feb 4) - A MUST READ!
A multi-trillion dollar financial scandal is occurring in the United States right now. It threatens to inflict unprecedented carnage upon Corporate America and horrific damage to our national economy. The mainstream media is aware of it, but most Americans are not, because the corporate news outlets refuse to report on it. It is not conspiracy. It is complicity.
Human Rights Under Siege Since 9/11
On January 16, 2002, Human Rights Watch (HRW) warned that "the anti-terror campaign led by the United States is inspiring opportunistic attacks on civil liberties around the world." On January 18, Amnesty International (AI) issued a report entitled "Rights at Risk,"warning that the global war on terrorism risked "degenerating into a dirty war of torture, detentions, and executions." CLIP "The Human Rights Watch and Amnesty reports are a wake-upcall to the free world. We should not play politics with human dignity. I challenge the world's leaders, including the Bush Administration, to state their position clearly: either you are for human rights or you are against them."

3. NEW MOON MEDITATION (FEB 11-12)
This New Moon will be exact at 07.41 GMT/UT on February 12. This is an especially powerful New Moon since at this time the Sun and Moon will be in Aquarius, conjunct Uranus (the ruler of Aquarius - very important) and Venus. There are two main themes here. The first is the awakening to our collective relations with all life. The second is freeing ourselves from the bonds that withhold us from participating fully in the collective web of life - particularly the old contracts, oaths, vows, programs, and curses that we took on in our past and are now lying unrecognised in our unconscious but are nevertheless limiting our capacity to relate fully.
We can view this New Moon as a portal time for an important impulse of Aquarian energy to be received by Humanity. Let us help to ground this energy into our lives and into the Earth, for the unfolding of the Aquarian Vision. Working with groups, networks, and new technology, the Aquarian World Server anchors the seeds of the new consciousness for the highest good of all.
Let us mark this time also by pondering on the Aquarian vision and the part that we can play in its unfolding. James Twyman reports that he was told by some Psychic Children that each human being needs to consider this question: "How would you act and what would you do if you realized that you are an Emissary of Love right now?"
There is much that has the potential to dampen our enthusiasm for this extraordinary work, such that at times we forget the true power for personal and collective change that resides within each of us. We forget how it feels when we are in that state of being, when we can see and feel the world so differently, when we step outside the illusion of nothing-ever-changes-so-what's-the-point. The heart and the mind are doorways for energies that can change our world, but we are the only ones with the key to those doors. That's the bottom line: it's up to us to open these doors. As the dreamers of the Aquarian Vision, we are faced with the issue of being "different" from the norm. That's the Aquarian gift to be accepted and celebrated, not feared. There may well be a vow or even a curse to release in order to be comfortable with being different from the norm, and now is the time to release it! Let us be willing to be different by being ourselves and dancing our dreams awake.
Please join us in a global meditation on these themes, either at the exact time of the New Moon, or the closest time to it. As you attune to the New Moon energies in this way for world healing, help to carry the light out across the planet, to help awakening to occur, and where help is needed, help to reweave the strands of consciousness where people are feeling unconnected from the fullness of life. The energy of this healing will be like lightning bolts that bring both connectivity and freedom. Take a moment also to receive the energies for yourself, to help you to discover how to unlock the mysteries of your being and to act upon the realisation that you are an Emissary of Love.

May peace and Love Prevail
A World Healing Survey is being compiled to help us understand where we believe healing is most needed and how we can maximise our healing capacity, so that we can respond better as healers or as people who just want to help. The survey also asks you for any suggestions for healing projects.
Please consider taking a moment of your time to fill in this survey, which can be found at http://www.worldhealing.co.uk/survey.asp

Subject: Re: Miscellaneous Subjects #125: Revealing Some Sickening Realities
Thanks for the passing on of vital information, Jean.
Re the Book review on "Murder by Injection" by Eustace Mullins, I have been aware of this for some time. I am also aware that there is a influx of toxic chemicals into our homes and the environment from the harmful ingredients so prevalent in personal care and household products. Most people assume that Government agencies have been set up to control these, and take care of them, but a recent Program on Australian SBS TV (featuring David Suzuki's Series "The Nature of Things" outlined how impossible it is to keep track of every new chemical released, as well as research their effects when combined with so many other chemicals. Also no studies have been done on their effects on the various organs of our bodies.
Even if these things are not done willingly to harm the population, it show an amazing lack of responsibility to foist them on an unsuspecting public who are increasingly succumbing to these severe attacks on their immune systems thereby suffering the many autoimmune diseases which plague our society today. A British Journalist, Phillip Day, has been investigating these "frauds" in medicine see his website: http://www.credence.org I was involved in the Cancer "Industry" as a Radiation Therapist for over 30 years.
Please believe me when I say that most of the people in the so-called "helping professions" are ignorant of what they do in their daily work with drugs, radiation and chemotherapy.
Many of the diseases ostensibly being "treated" by conventional medicine (to no avail) could be successfully prevented and treated by reducing the toxins and improving nutrition - Safe non-toxic products for the home, and effective nutritional supplements can treat many of the health problems which people suffer today. The problem is that to get the benefits of these, people have to turn away from ineffective conventional regimes and do due diligence regarding the modalities which Phillip Day talks about in his books.
I would be happy to communicate directly with anyone interested in finding out more about any of this.
Thanks for your valuable contribution to education in our time. Please keep up your good work, and take care of yourself.

Cheney Made Millions Off Oil Deals with Hussein
San Francisco Bay Guardian
November 13, 2000
by Martin A. Lee
Here's a whopper of a story you may have missed amid the cacophony of campaign ads and stump speeches in the run-up to the elections.
During former defense secretary Richard Cheney's five-year tenure as chief executive of Halliburton, Inc., his oil services firm raked in big bucks from dubious commercial dealings with Iraq. Cheney left Halliburton with a $34 million retirement package last July when he became the GOP's vice-presidential candidate.
Of course, U.S. firms aren't generally supposed to do business with Saddam Hussein. But thanks to legal loopholes large enough to steer an oil tanker through, Halliburton profited big-time from deals with the Iraqi dictatorship. Conducted discreetly through several Halliburton subsidiaries in Europe, these greasy transactions helped Saddam Hussein retain his grip on power while lining the pockets of Cheney and company.
According to the Financial Times of London, between September 1998 and last winter, Cheney, as CEO of Halliburton, oversaw $23.8 million of business contracts for the sale of oil-industry equipment and services to Iraq through two of its subsidiaries, Dresser Rand and Ingersoll-Dresser Pump, which helped rebuild Iraq's war-damaged petroleum-production infrastructure. The combined value of these contracts exceeded those of any other U.S. company doing business with Baghdad.
Halliburton was among more than a dozen American firms that supplied Iraq's petroleum industry with spare parts and retooled its oil rigs when U.N. sanctions were eased in 1998. Cheney's company utilized subsidiaries in France, Italy, Germany, and Austria so as not to draw undue attention to controversial business arrangements that might embarrass Washington and jeopardize lucrative ties to Iraq, which will pump $24 billion of petrol under the U.N.-administered oil-for-food program this year. Assisted by Halliburton, Hussein's government will earn another $1 billion by illegally exporting oil through black-market channels.
With Cheney at the helm since 1995, Halliburton quickly grew into America's number-one oil-services company, the fifth-largest military contractor, and the biggest nonunion employer in the nation. Although Cheney claimed that the U.S. government "had absolutely nothing to do" with his firm's meteoric financial success, State Department documents obtained by the Los Angeles Times indicate that U.S. officials helped Halliburton secure major contracts in Asia and Africa. Halliburton now does business in 130 countries and employs more than 100,000 workers worldwide.
Its 1999 income was a cool $15 billion.
In addition to Iraq, Halliburton counts among its business partners several brutal dictatorships that have committed egregious human rights abuses, including the hated military regime in Burma (Myanmar).
EarthRights, a Washington, D.C.-based human rights watchdog, condemned Halliburton for two energy-pipeline projects in Burma that led to the forced relocation of villages, rape, murder, indentured labor, and other crimes against humanity.
A full report (this is a 45 page pdf file -- there is also a brief summary) on the Burma connection, "Halliburton's Destructive Engagement," can be accessed on EarthRights' Web site.
Human rights activists have also criticized Cheney's company for its questionable role in Algeria, Angola, Bosnia, Croatia, Haiti, Rwanda, Somalia, Indonesia, and other volatile trouble spots. In Russia, Halliburton's partner, Tyumen Oil, has been accused of committing massive fraud to gain control of a Siberian oil field.
And in oil-rich Nigeria, Halliburton worked with Shell and Chevron, which were implicated in gross human rights violations and environmental calamities in that country. Indeed, Cheney's firm increased its involvement in the Niger Delta after the military government executed several ecology activists and crushed popular protests against the oil industry.
Halliburton also had business dealings in Iran and Libya, which remain on the State Department's list of terrorist states. Brown and Root, a Halliburton subsidiary, was fined $3.8 million for re-exporting U.S. goods to Libya in violation of U.S. sanctions.
But in terms of sheer hypocrisy, Halliburton's relationship with Saddam Hussein is hard to top. What's more, Cheney lied about his company's activities in Iraq when journalists fleetingly raised the issue during the campaign.
Questioned by Sam Donaldson on ABC's This Week program in August, Cheney bluntly asserted that Halliburton had no dealings with the Iraqi regime while he was on board.
Donaldson: I'm told, and correct me if I'm wrong, that Halliburton, through subsidiaries, was actually trying to do business in Iraq?
Cheney: No. No. I had a firm policy that I wouldn't do anything in Iraq even arrangements that were supposedly legal.
And that was it! ABC News and the other U.S. networks dropped the issue like a hot potato. As damning information about Halliburton surfaced in the European press, American reporters stuck to old routines and took their cues on how to cover the campaign from the two main political parties, both of which had very little to say about official U.S. support for abusive corporate policies at home and abroad.
But why, in this instance, didn't the Democrats stomp and scream about Cheney's Iraq connection? The Gore campaign undoubtedly knew of Halliburton's smarmy business dealings from the get-go.
Gore and Lieberman could have made hay about how the wannabe GOP veep had been in cahoots with Saddam. Such explosive revelations may well have swayed voters and boosted Gore's chances in what was shaping up to be a close electoral contest.
The Democratic standard-bearers dropped the ball in part because Halliburton's conduct was generally in accordance with the foreign policy of the Clinton administration. Cheney is certainly not the only Washington mover and shaker to have been affiliated with a company trading in Iraq. Former CIA Director John Deutsch, who served in a Democratic administration, is a member of the board of directors of Schlumberger, the second-largest U.S. oil-services company, which also does business through subsidiaries in Iraq.
Despite occasional rhetorical skirmishes, a bipartisan foreign-policy consensus prevails on Capital Hill, where the commitment to human rights, with a few notable exceptions, is about as deep as an oil slick.
Truth be told, trading with the enemy is a time-honored American corporate practice or perhaps "malpractice" would be a more appropriate description of big-business ties to repressive regimes.
Given that Saddam Hussein, the pariah du jour, has often been compared to Hitler, it's worth pointing out that several blue-chip U.S. firms profited from extensive commercial dealings with Nazi Germany.
Shockingly, some American companies including Standard Oil, Ford, ITT, GM, and General Electric secretly kept trading with the Nazi enemy while American soldiers fought and died during World War II.
Today General Electric is among the companies that are back in business with Saddam Hussein, even as American jets and battleships attack Iraq on a weekly basis using weapons made by G.E. But the United Nations sanctions committee, dominated by U.S. officials, has routinely blocked medicines and other essential items from being delivered to Iraq through the oil-for-food program, claiming they have a potential military "dual use." These sanctions have taken a terrible toll on ordinary Iraqis, and on children in particular, while the likes of Halliburton and G.E. continue to lubricate their coffers.

Subject: ENRON + Afghanistan + 911 OR THE OTHER WAY AROUND!
ENRON = U.S. Trade and Development Agency = Oil via Afghanistan = 911
Natural Gas - The United States has supported trans-Caspian routes for Central Asian oil and gas as an alternative to pipelines passing though Iran. The U.S. Trade and Development Agency funded a $750,000 feasibility study conducted by Enron for a natural gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan, and another feasibility study was also completed by Unocal. On May 21, 1999 Turkey and Turkmenistan signed a 30-year agreement to ship 700 bcf/year of Turkmen gas to Turkey, with the rest exported to Europe. Georgia has proposed that trans-Caspian pipeline could also be linked to the Russian natural gas pipeline system.
To Pakistan via Afghanistan Oil - Turkmenistan has signed a memorandum of understanding with Afghanistan and Pakistan to build a 1 million bbl/d pipeline to carry petroleum to Pakistan and world markets via Afghanistan. This eastward route, along with one to China, is one of the few alternatives to the Iranian route for exporting Central Asian oil to Asian markets. InOctober 1997, a tripartite commission comprising the Islamic State of Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and Pakistan was formed to start work on building this pipeline. Two competing groups, led by Bridas of Argentina and Unocal of the United States, offered to build the pipelines.

SHOCKWAVES FROM BUSH SPEECH RIPPLE AROUND WORLD
The amateurish, jingoistic, arrogant and ludicrous State of the Union speech has sent shockwaves reverberating around the world.
The position of the British Foreign Office, regarding the speech, was made clear by a spokesperson, who declared that "we do not believe about everything (the US says)". He added that "We believe that in a long term, we can overcome disagreement by talking to each other".
"President Bush's comments about Iran do not change British policy, which remains to engage with the Iranian government and to improve relations with a view to building a better understanding between our countries", he continued.
Another Foreign Office spokesperson declared to the Iranian news agency, IRNA, that "Britain certainly has no wish to engage in any kind of confrontation".
These comments come in the wake of the "axis of evil" speech in which George W. Bush appears to have got his geography wrong, naming Baghdad (predictably), Pyongyang (of course) and Teheran as the three countries which supposedly had their weapons of mass destruction pointing at the USA.
Exactly why George Bush was allowed to include Teheran in his speech, after all the co-operation that the government of Iran has given to the USA in recent months, is the cause of a huge question mark among practically all the governments, and population, of the European Union.
Iran's president Sayed Mohammad Khatami denounced Bush's outburst as "intervening, warmongering, insulting, a repetition of his past propagation, and worse than all, truly insulting towards the Iranian nation".
He continued: "What is of top importance is that adopting such aggressive moods merely leads to further unity and solidarity among the Iranian nation in their confrontation with those governments whose appetite will never be saturated and are always intending to intervene in othersí affairs".
Furthermore, he declared that "Iran is both a victim of terrorism and a victim of chemical weapons, which were generously donated to our enemies by those who intended to uproot the Islamic Revolution - Today, America insists on supporting the racist Zionist regime that resorts to all sorts of crimes against the Palestinians that are the most oppressed, most innocent nation in the world".
Praising the USA as a "great nation", the Iranian President declared that this country has an important role as a peace broker, while only too often its policies bring tyranny and injustice, cloaked in a disguise of freedom and individual liberty.
The State of the Union speech was a monumental blunder, a gross miscalculation and a massive display of arrogance, which basically served to take away any degree of sympathy, to counter all feelings of commiseration and at a stroke, annul the outrage felt by the international community for the United States in the aftermath of September 11th.
One wonders whether the President of the United States of America had been eating pretzels again - they pack a mighty punch, after all.

Bush's 'evil axis' comment stirs critics (2 February, 2002)
Bush's words have met with angry responses There is mounting international concern about President George W Bush's grouping together of Iran, Iraq and North Korea as an "axis of evil". Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov of Russia, which sees all three as falling within its sphere of influence, questioned whether there was evidence to label the three an "axis of evil". Former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright called Mr Bush's comments "a big mistake". "First of all they (Iran, Iraq and North Korea) are very different from each other," she said. Mr Bush made the comment during his State of the Union speech, claiming the three countries were developing weapons of mass destruction. But there have been angry responses from the countries themselves, while several allies of the US have expressed fears that it is preparing to open a new front in its war against terrorism. CLIP
Mr Bush's bellicose remarks about North Korea, Iran and Iraq have raised concerns in Europe that the war on terrorism may spread in terms of geography and nature. (...) North Korea has joined Iran and Iraq in condemning Mr Bush's remarks. A North Korean foreign ministry spokesman described Mr Bush's State of the Union address as "little short of a declaration of war".
DEMONIZING US ENEMIES
In an apparent attempt to prepare for action against Iran, President Bush in his State of the Union address declared, "Iran aggressively pursues these weapons and exports terror, while an unelected few repress the Iranian people's hope for freedom." Someone at the State Department ought to inform Bush that Iranian President Khatami has twice been elected with an overwhelming majority. CLIP The point is that statements such as Bush's "unelected few" comment are designed to try to rewrite political reality in order to demonize hostile states, and their leaders. Truth can never be allowed to get in the way of a propaganda campaign. Perhaps Pakistani "President" Musharraf (whom Bush praised in his speech, but who is a military dictator who came to power in a coup) is a better leader than Khatami, who was overwhelmingly elected. Yet it is not exactly "politically correct" to point out that US allies include military dictators (Pakistan), Stalinist thugs (Tajikistan) and corrupt princes (Saudi Arabia), while US enemies include regimes which are more democratic than the US. A cynic might even point out that George Bush did not even win a majority of the popular vote, and wonder where Bush gets off criticizing Iranian leadership as "unelected." CLIP
The "War on Terrorism" is a dirty business and trying to recast it as some sort of noble crusade to "make the world safe for democracy," or "free captive people" would simply be a sham.
NORTH KOREA COMMENTS OF GEORGE BUSH'S STATE OF THE UNION SPEECH http://english.pravda.ru/main/2002/02/02/26176.html The USA is conducting the airborne prospecting of North Korea's territory. The mass media of North Korea reported, the American spy planes made over 150 sorties near the borders of the country within the last month only.
NEVER MIND OSAMA - LET's CONQUER THE WORLD INSTEAD
President Bush's State of the Union speech confirms what we have long maintained on this website: the "war on terrorism" is not a defensive operation, but a war of conquest.(...) It is clear, after listening to the President threaten the so-called Axis of Evil, that the US is no longer fighting a just war, if it ever was. After all the railing and ranting against Osama bin Laden, Bush did not mention his name once, and only alluded to the Evil One indirectly when he gloated over how the terrorist leaders are "on the run." It looks like the US government has pretty much lost sight of OBL - and they're hoping the American people will do the same.
ON THE MORAL LEPROSY OF THE WHITE HOUSE
George Bush's hysterical tirade pertaining to the imaginary "axis of evil," his threats to North Korea, characterized by Pyongyang as "moral leprosy," were perceived rather negatively in Beijing and Seoul. Seoul is alarmed: Bush's rhetoric, which included North Korea in the mythical axis of evil, threatens to bury the peaceful process between the North and South Koreas forever. The Korea Times wrote, being concerned about the bellicosity of the American president: "Normalizing relations with the U.S. is seen as the North's ultimate diplomatic aim, whose isolated economy is suffering from a severe lack of hard currency after decades of sanctions. The setback in Pyongyang-Washington ties due to the Bush administration's hard-line North Korea policy also bogged down inter-Korean relations last year. There have been fears that the renewed tension between North Korea and the U.S. recently will interfere further with inter-Korean family reunions and dialogues, which have lately shown signs of getting back on track. HHS Unveils 24/7 Plan to Track Patients
St. Paul, Minnesota-The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services today released $1.1 billion and a plan to build government health surveillance systems in every state. The stated goal: to enhance public health infrastructure for bioterrorism preparedness. The plan: government access to 'everyone's' medical record through their hospitals and doctor's offices.
"The public was never consulted about this plan. The very idea that government officials plan to get a direct line into the medical records of patients should outrage citizens. Private medical records are not public data," said Twila Brase, R.N., president of Citizens' Council on Health Care (CCHC), a health care policy organization in St. Paul, Minnesota.
State must draw up a plan to present to HHS by no later than April 15, 2002. Sixteen criteria must be part of each state plan, including:
* Timeline for development of a state-wide plan for response to a bioterrorist event, infectious disease outbreak, or other public health emergency.
* Ability to receive and evaluate urgent disease reports from all parts of the jurisdiction on a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week basis.
* Communication systems that provide a 24/7 flow of critical health information between hospital emergency departments, State and local health officials, and law enforcement.
"The HHS plan represents a greater danger to patients than bioterrorism," said Brase. "Just knowing government officials and police officers will receive patient data without patient consent will change the way patients interact with the health care system. They may not tell their doctors the whole story. They may come for care too late. They may receive the wrong diagnoses, the wrong treatment, the wrong advice."
Legislative requirements for meeting HHS criteria were built into the Model Emergency State 'Health Powers Act' released in October by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Act, now under consideration in 'all' 50 State legislatures, requires ongoing 'reporting' by health care 'providers' and 'pharmacists to the state public health department'. It also permits epidemiological research 'without' patient consent, at 'both' the state and federal level.
"This plan is 'not just about bioterrorism'. HHS officials plan to use patients for medical research 'without' their consent," said Brase. "Public health officials have long expressed a desire to 'track and tag the entire population'. They hope September 11th will make their dreams come true.

World Social Forum - Simultaneous Policy Workshop
"John Bunzl" <firstname.lastname@example.org> informed me that there was a Simultaneous Policy (SP) WORKSHOP on Sunday 3rd February at the World Social Forum, Porto Alegre, in Brazil. Here is what some celebs had to say about his Simultaneous Policy proposal:
"It's ambitious and provocative. Can it work? Certainly worth a serious try."
"The Simultaneous Policy is a creative proposal to accelerate progress toward a sustainable global economy. Many movements and grassroots globalists working for these goals can coalesce around such innovative initiatives."
"I agree with the case your organization is making about the failure of anti-globalization forces to propose effective alternatives to the status quo. I believe your organization's proposals are an important step forward. They address the real problems we face with proposals that deserve to be taken seriously. I hope that many of those who took important first steps in Seattle, Washington and Quebec City will now take the second step and take either the ISPO programme, or any alternatives they wish to propose, into the political arena. Anti-globalization demonstrators have the attention of the world. If they wish to hold that attention, and start to make an impact on policy, they must now follow the ISPO's lead and propose workable alternatives to the status quo."
