MAY LOVE PREVAIL ON EARTH

The Light Series #59: Love and Light Filling Our Hearts
A Light Series compilation is long overdue and much needed in the face of the litany of disheartening information that has come to our attention lately. Even more so now than ever before, it is vital we ensure to make room for Light-filled activities and Love-fostering thoughts in our lives so as to maintain balance and forever aspire to and immerse ourselves into the emerging reality - despite outwards appearances - of a new world of harmony, universal love and true peace. We are at the forefront of this emerging new global consciousness, prodded by invisible assistance and our own pre-incarnation willful decision to contribute in this global awakening of souls and hearts with the aim to permanently defeat/cancel out the resisting influence of spiritually-lost entities whose freewill enabled them for too long to wreak havoc with universal plans for "upliftment" and "godification" of all souls journeying into 3-D living experience.
The bedrock of this inner knowledge that benevolence, kindness and Love are the very foundation of this Universe must never escape our minds to be replaced by Life-depleting emotions of fear, helplessness or anger.
It's in all of us to be wise...

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own Light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

"It is good and fine to oppose a horrific war, to meditate upon the glory of Peace on Earth and to pray for its fulfillment, to march for miles to promote our convictions, to light millions of candles to ignite the purity of our intentions for peace. But in the end, we have to actually do something for peace. We have to be peaceful ourselves. One by one and all together we must learn and practice the ways of peace, cooperation, compassion, forgiveness and understanding. We must put our spirit into action and, be the peace we seek - in our hearts, in our homes, in our relationships and in our communities. In the words of Gandhi, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." Surely, this is the humble but firm foundation of Peace on Earth. We are the world, after all. The way I see it, we are at a crossroads in our evolution. Either we will figure out how we can all live together on one planet without violence. Or we won't. We expect nonviolence it in our families and at our jobs. We demand non-aggressive, tolerant behavior of our kids at school."

"The place to improve the world is first in one's own heart and head and hands, and then work outward from there."

"As we go on today, collectively devastating the Earth on an unparalleled scale, we are proving by the absurd the validity of this ancient perception of our place and role in the community of Life. We are destroying the fragile balance, established after billions of years of slow progress, between the unrelenting efforts of Life to take hold on this once barren planet and the sheer forces of entropy counteracting permanently to bring things back to their simplest mineral and chemical expressions. We are simply killing ourselves... This is the ultimate result of a civilization dominated by the Illusion of Separation."

Spring's Hopes and Life (nice pictures and inspiring words)
We seek to establish lasting world peace and healing, individually and collectively, utilizing nonjudgmental and nonviolent methods. These methods include healing, prayer, meditation, journeying, affirmations, intention and various gifts based on individual expression and contributions to the betterment of the collective. CLIP - The founder of this group, Jeannie email@example.com>, also wrote to me "As stated on the site, we are a small group...with hopes of growing in number. We currently have participants in the US and France. The group in France is primarily a prayer/focus group. In the US, we are primarily individual practitioners. A group which I personally work with coordinates efforts on Friday at 7:00 pm. As well, we practice individually over the course of the week with our personal gifts. Among us are shamanic journeyers, Reiki practitioners, meditators, dreamworkers, artists, intuitives and others with unique gifts."
Wisdom of the Rainbow Serpent - By Maria Yraceburu
WE ARE NOW IN THE MIDST OF TRANSITION. As always happens before there is a birth, there is labor. The birth of the Fifth World of Peace means transition and effort. As the Fifth World comes there will be growing pains. But there has been planted in our world a seed that is growing, and the efforts to nurture the seed have been successful. The prophecies have foretold of this time. It is happening even as I write these words. There are many big changes happening. There have been breakups, and there have been upheavals. There is what many consider darkness and difficulty. Many say Things are worse. But, there is behind all this a power which is making for the evolution of the world. There are many of us who have seen, or are now seeing, the world as it shall be. That conception we try to relay to those who are receptive, to inspire them to go on with their work. The images I have seen tell me it is only a matter of time. CLIP

9 Fires of Truth: Teachings of Universal Peace & Harmony
The 9 Fires of Truth teach you how to live in harmony and balance with all of creation. The 9 qualities provide you with the tools to achieve a state of inner peace and self confidence. When you embody the 9 qualities, you live a life filled with love, compassion, and joy in oneness. You make choices from a place of wisdom. You act with courage, treat people with love and compassion, trust that everything is in divine order and unfolding as it should. You seek and follow your personal vision. You gain strength in body, mind, and soul. You make choices with two questions in mind: Am I in integrity with my beliefs? Am I being impeccable with my energy? When all of these qualities are integrated into your life, you live in a place of Unity and Oneness with all things. When you do this, you live in peace and harmony. Our mission is to initiate a change in consciousness for humanity that will bring about a state of harmony for all people and healing to Mother Earth.

Thank you for letting us know what is really transpiring. I am so amazed at Sen. Robert Byrd from West Virginia. He has continually called us to take a look at what is happening, despite all the rhetoric from Washington and the Media. It is time for healing, and I ask all who feel drawn to do so, to not only meditate on Peace in Iraq - but also to do some deep , inner healing work for the well-being of this nation.

Urgently Needed: An Evolution In Human Consciousness
by A. J. Lewis, PhD. and Suzanne Phillips, M.A.
The Internet is awash lately with dire predictions of the end of the life as we know it. Various scenarios and dates are offered - the end of fossil fuel, global warming disasters, population overflow, nuclear waste disposal, rivers drying up, etc.
None of these crises are new or unexpected. We've been warned for years that our present way of life is unsustainable. In 1992 a group of eminent scientists emphatically stated we must cut consumption by 90% if we expect to survive. Instead, most of us have gone blithely on our self-centered ways ignoring increasingly obvious danger signs.
Now pressing in from every side is the very real possibility that the Earth itself may expire by 2050 due to human rape of the planet. This news is catastrophic.
No more planet to live on? We would do well to heed the ancient Chinese proverb:
"Unless we change the direction we are headed,
we might end up where we are going."
What has gone wrong for this lush Garden of Eden we humans were given for a planet home? Dr. Brian Swimme, mathematical cosmologist, says we have lost our sense of awe about our Cosmos. We don't know the history of where we've come from nor do we appreciate that everything in the Cosmos is a one-time event. The oceans were formed once - this will never happen again. The dinosaurs from which we're getting our fuel were formed once - they will never exist again. And everything is not linear or static as we tend to believe, but is constantly changing. Especially, we desperately need to understand that what each individual does affects the whole.
Three crucial questions for reflection are: What is the role of humans on Earth? What motives direct our actions? How can we live in harmony with our fellow creatures and the Earth itself?
The first question is answered by proposing its negative.
* Surely the immense Creative Force of the entire Cosmos did not intend that 15 billion years of evolution should produce a bottom line mentality concentrating on a dead-end exploitation of our planet home and each other.
* Surely each human has a spirit capable of resonating with vitality and love for our fellow creatures and the life force of this incredible planet which nourishes and supports us.
Our indigenous ancestors understood that air, soil, water, animal and plant life, rocks and minerals deserve to be cherished and respected for themselves as well as the gifts they bring. They acted on wisdom that we're all one in the intricate Web of Life. Abusing any of these is ultimately abusing our own individual selves.
What motives inspire our actions? Addressing the predominant current mentality, we suggest humans have gone astray from their original programming. The man who first staked out a piece of land and said, "This is mine" set our species on a disastrous course. Those adopting the corporate viewpoint that the Earth is for sale might ponder the words of Chief Seattle in 1855. Upon receiving word that the Great Chief in Washington wished to buy the Duwamish lands, he asked:
"What is it that the White Man wants to buy? my people will ask
How can one buy or sell the air, the warmth of the land?
If we don't own the sweet air and the bubbling water, how can you buy it from us?"
How can we live with our fellow creatures and the Earth itself? Swimme sheds light on our human problem when he observes that 98% of human DNA is identical with that of our ancestors, the chimpanzees. Chimps go playfully about their lives without interfering with the structure of the Universe. In contrast, much of human activity brings another crisis or disaster upon fellow creatures and ourselves.
What comprises the 2% difference between human DNA and that of the chimps? For one thing, human power of imagination. We have the capability of saying "What if
? What if we dam up this river and divert water to over there? What if we carve a road through this mountain? What if we cut down this forest to build houses and ships and furniture? What if we clone human beings, or transplant DNA, or modify plant genes?" And on and on and on.
Lost our awe of the Universe
The result of human imagination is that all other species and Earth itself are now dependent upon the wisdom - or lack of it - of the human species. We have taken control of life processes - or intend to do so - and the result is clearly the end of life as we have known it. Having lost our awe of the Universe and sense of sacredness and respect for others, we are arrogant. We want to be in charge. We want to control things, even if all this is contrary to the laws of Nature and the Universe.
Dr. Helen Caldicott is an Australian pediatrician. She spends most of her time trying to awaken us from stupendous ignorance and apathy about the fearsome dangers to which we subjected our species by splitting the uranium atom. That is something we should not have done for the radiation released is deadly in every form and is the current gravest danger we face.
Caldicott says we must immediately stop nuclear production and dismantle all the laboratories, mines, factories, reactors, weapons, and transport systems dealing with nuclear energy. Urgency is crucial for we have created a material with deadly radioactive half-life of 10,000 years and we don't know how to dispose of it!
What is it about human mentality that
1) arrogantly thinks it can tamper with such powerful forces of Nature and not be harmed;
2) believes wreaking death and destruction on others is morally acceptable;
3) entertains the idea - even momentarily - that forces unleashed by splitting the atom can be contained and are O.K. to have around for "normal" use? Clearly, we need a major change in human consciousness
What can we do to save and restore our dying planet?
Personal terminal illnesses can be prevented and often reversed by strict adherence to sound dietary, psychological and emotional practices. Is there still time to restore the balance of the Earth?
To restore the Earth we need a massive change of consciousness and behavior. We must revive our own sense of awe and wonder, our sense of the sacredness of all life. Within each human heart remains a spark of the divine truth and goodness with which we were born. It reminds us, if we but listen in stillness, that we live in a bountiful, self-healing universe. Gratitude for the gift of life can enable us to live in a way that is healthy and wholesome for ourselves, for all other beings with whom we share this planet.
We are raised to believe that we exist to be consumers.
By the age of six, the average U.S. child is exposed to 30,000 TV ads! These convey the message that our life's goal is to learn a skill with which we can get a job to make money so we can buy more things and be happy. They neglect to mention that the real result of such activities enables a few people to get very rich making big profits off others - and that we lose our precious souls by cooperating with their thinking. We need to dis-mantle the various mechanisms of Western culture that promote and maintain this giant death trip.
Choice of food is important
Faced with the loss of oil which has been the foundation of industry, agriculture and transport, we need to seek alternate sources of energy. Wind and solar power are already used in many parts of the world. Hydrogen, geothermal and biomass systems are being explored. Extensive use of private cars has to be replaced by public transportation in order to slow global warming. Living in bioregional, self-sustaining communities and growing our own food will be absolutely necessary.
Eating less meat and more vegetables by people in richer nations will make the grain and water used by cattle available as food for humans. Recycling and shopping at thrift shops are household habits for many. Living simply and buying less has great rewards. Choice of food is important. Over-processed, chemicalized food with additives such as Aspartame and MSG create severe disease and mental disturbances.
treat the Earth like a Garden of Eden
Fortunately, our latent human sensitivity and conscience are coming to the fore. People are actively expressing their instinct that we are all one being. An economist, pointing out that the disparity between rich and poor must end, said recently: "Our planet is small at last, and we will not forever be able to seek prosperity in the impoverishment of others and the destruction of first nature. Ecology compels us, finally, to ask if there is a decent future for any if there is not a decent future for all."
The imminent collapse of stock markets, banks of issue, and other entrapping economic mechanisms which have plundered the peoples of the earth may herald a better future. Freedom from worship of money will reconnect us to our souls. Matthew Fox and Brian Swimme say this new century will be characterized by compassion because we finally recognize our interdependence and act accordingly.
"[Compassion is] an awareness that no creature is separate from any other
and no joy and no pain are apart from one's own. With compassion will come celebration and true enjoyment of each other and this enchanting world."
Action, not words is the theme of a beautiful book which comprehensively presents the reality of our situation. So let us commit to the maxim: "Do no harm." Let us choose this day to back off from short-sighted economic pursuits and thoughtfully consider our legacy to future generations. If we treat the Earth like a Garden of Eden it will be one. Let us rise to our true destiny as Stewards and Co-creators of Life!
Al Lewis and Suzanne Phillips live off the grid in Carson NM, USA in an "earthship" built of discarded tires, aluminum cans and adobe from the site. The house, which is wired for both AC and DC current, is powered by solar panels connected to deep cycle marine batteries. Rainwater from the roof goes into a stock tank for use in their organic garden. The well and transfer pumps are also powered by solar panels.

Sparking a Spiritual Revolution on Planet Earth
By Jean Hudon
At this most critical crossroad in this worlds history, humanity is slowly realizing that past centuries of warfare against man and nature can and will come to an end only when we disarm within the very core essence from where our thoughts, decisions and actions stem the primal cause of self-destruction and wanton violence.
All Life forms are united by the very nature of this magical Life Force that runs through each sentient and non-sentient form of Life on this planet and everywhere else in this Universe and beyond.
Realizing, understanding, imbuing ourselves with this incontrovertible and yet unfathomable Reality is the only means through which humanity can come to adjust its everyday thoughts, words and actions to the fact that We Are All One.
One could make the argument that our own genetic code already spells out in minute details how closely related we all are from a biological standpoint. But this is not about mental reasoning or intellectual construct. This is all and only about intuitively sensing what has been there all along and opening ourselves to Our Selves.
There is no way around the fact that in division and duality we all perish, whereas in unification and reintegration into Oneness, we all survive and prosper.
As more and more souls awaken to their innate Oneness with All That Is and actualize this Reality into all they are until the very sense of separation is gone, extinguished, annihilated, it is becoming ever more easier for other awakening souls to likewise tune into this omnifying vibration that resonates like a dynamic magnetic star core in all frequency bands, permeating the very substance of our planetary body and exponentially expanding towards its Fifth Dimensional Accomplishment.
The results from this Miracle in progress are astonishing to behold and the upwardly cascading radiance of Love that stems from the center of every single cell of our human bodies in a symphonic chorus of tingling ecstasy is melting the fast vanishing barriers of deception built by fear, hatred and disharmonic vibrations generated by our lower animal nature as our embodied souls struggled through countless centuries of incremental growth towards this critical threshold of global awakening we have collectively entered, starting in August 17, 1987 and during successive other Moments of Cosmic Choice, up to this critical juncture in our specific time continuum.
The Time is NOW.
Let us all rejoice, celebrate and contemplate in melted awe what is happening to our Selves as we reach up to the last inner key to the final Moment of Choice and Global Awakening.

A Lesson in Humility
A few years ago I became a mother, got a divorce, lost my job, shattered my knee, and moved across the country. This was on top of trying to go to school, care for my son, and work. All in all, things at the time were far from ideal, as I lived day-to-day trying to make ends meet.
When I moved to California, I needed to get a form from the Department of Motor Vehicles in order to get auto insurance. The form cost five dollars five dollars that I did not have. I was truly out of money, on welfare, and eating through food stamps. I started to beg the DMV clerk to let me have the form, but policy would no allow her to give it to me. I was at my wits end, and began to cry clutching my infant son to me when all of the sudden another clerk hands my clerk five dollars and said that "her customer wanted to pay the fee." At the same time another customer in line gave me a $20 dollar bill to pay the fee, and another customer gave me $5. Even once they realized the fee was paid they continued to press their bills into my hand. In a daze, I paid the fee, received the form, and stumbled towards to door, shocked at the kindness of strangers and embarrassed to have been so out of control in the DMV of all places!
As I left the building a woman came up to me and put something into my hand. I got to my car, put my son in his seat, and opened my hand only to find lying there $126.00!! Four strangers had given me their hard earned money and enough hope to make all the daily trials in my life seem so insignificant. I made photocopies of the currency prior to spending it and still cry each time I look at the copies.
The most amazing part of all is that the DMV where this happened is in the "bad part of town" and populated with recent immigrants, welfare parents, working-poor families, and others barely just getting by. I have always wanted to thank them for they gave me so much more then money that day. God blessed me through them and I have thought of them so many times over the years as I have given money or food to someone in need. They truly made an indelible image in my heart and an everlasting mark of soul graffiti.
United as Humans
It seems like for the past few years not a day goes by that bleak breaking news from the Middle East does not inundate us on television, radio, and in virtually every newspaper and news magazine. Weather it is the prospects of war, actual war, a suicide bombing, targeted killing, or threats of an all out holy war, the Middle East has become far from the biblical paradise I used to hear of as a child. In this vain, the scenes of death, despair, frustration, and pain raced through my mind as I boarded a flight to Israel. Despite repeated reassurances from family and friends that things were not nearly as bad as the media portrayed them, I was nonetheless worried by this trip and the potential dangers that lay ahead in a foreign land filled with so much rage, hatred, and feelings of injustice. I recall the weeks leading up to this trip and the many political debates I found myself engaged in, desperately trying to make sense of what seemed illogical.
As I boarded the plane I felt as if I was stepping into a United Nations session, with representatives of nearly every ethnic background present. Hasidic men dressed in black coats and fur hats sat next to Arab women with their faces covered in traditional scarves. A Hindu couple with red dots painted on their foreheads spoke to an American sporting jeans, t-shirt and baseball cap. I saw a Christian priest adorned with black shirt and white color introduce himself to a man dressed in what appeared to be the dark maroon robes of a Buddhist monk. And then there was me a typical unimposing American businessman, dressed in comfortable travel attire, hoping that the nearly 12-hour flight will pass quickly and that I wont get seated next to crying triplets, or worse, between a team of professional Sumo wresters.
Fortunately I was able to negotiate an exit row seat with plenty of leg room and easy access to the restroom. I sank into my seat exhausted from the extensive security screening and began feeling the full effects of the sleeping medication I took just prior to boarding. As I watched the plane fill, an older indiscrete looking gentleman took the seat to my left. He introduced himself as Thomas, and explained that he was a Lutheran minister traveling to Israel for the first time with his parish. Shortly after he sat down, a young twenty-something youth took a seat to my right and although he seemed to me a bit intimidating at first, I said hello and introduced myself. He politely returned my greeting and introduced himself as Mohammad, a US citizen who spends his time between working in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and helping the resistance in Ramallah, West Bank. Hmmm, this should be interesting, I thought to myself - a Lutheran minister, a militant Palestinian, and me, a Jew, seated next to each other for the next 12 hours en route to Israel - a holy land that was holy to each of us in our own very different ways.
I should have known better than to bring up politics, but in retrospect, it was waiting to happen and I dont think that there was anything I could do to prevent it from coming up. We were barely off the ground when a heated debate erupted and being in the middle seat, I found myself overcome with emotion and feeling helplessly unable to express myself or be heard. It was hard to think over the cacophony of heated remarks as the topics extended from the Israeli aggressors to the Palestinian murderers to American infidels, and other such anger-filled sentiment that began to worry even the flight attendants. It did not take long before others on the plane overheard our conversation and joined in. The row in front, to our side, and behind, began interjecting with their own emotion-laden remarks, and I think that even the passengers inline for the restroom pitched in a comment or two. Before long, I yearned to be seated between the Sumo wrestlers or crying babies (or even both), because they could not have been more uncomfortable than the diatribe I was now engaged in.
And then it happened. I shut my eyes, and it was as if a light bulb went off in my head just like in the cartoons, I looked at Mohammad and said Im so sorry for the pain you feel. I then looked at the minister to my left and remarked similarly, It is so sad that we can not hear each other and appreciate each other for who they are and how they feel.
No sooner than my remarks, a quiet as thick as a dense fog replaced the crowd around us and everyone just stood there unsure of how to absorb the words they had just heard. I decided to take advantage of the moment and continued to my traveling companions, when will we get over the anger, the hate, and the hurt, and embrace each other as fellow humans, I inquired. I may not agree with you, I may even feel passionately opposed to your beliefs, but why can I not still love you, show respect for you, and embrace you as a fellow human, whom like I, seeks peace, justice, and joy in life?
Despite a few passengers' mumblings, the relative quite continued for several minutes as these thoughts began to sink in. I dont think that even I was aware of the power of these words and what they personally meant to me. Mohammed was the first to speak and asked me if Jews pray for the death of Muslims. Rather than trust my answer, I asked a fellow passenger for his prayer book, and gave it to Mohammed to peruse. He was shocked as he read the prayers of hope, love, and peace (and the lack of anti-anything) that filled the pages. Thomas surprised us all when he extended his hand to Mohammed and then to me, with no words but a big warm smile that said all that needed to be expressed.
We spend the next 5 hours sharing ideas, thoughts, and philosophies on our respective religions, and unlike before, now, we really listened to each other. As Mohammed excused himself to bow and say his morning prayers, I decided to read from the Jewish prayer book, and watched as Thomas opened the pocket-sized bible that he always kept with him. Here we were, I thought, three people so different, yet united in a respect for each other, a desire for truth and happiness, and a willingness to open our hearts and overcome anger, bias, and stereotype.
I embarked to Israel in a state of frustration, worry, and helpless despair, but when I arrived, I was filed with a feeling of hope and a priceless education that will likely leave its mark on me forever. I left for Israel with some food, a magazine, and a few dollars in my pocket and in the 11 hours I traveled, I acquired two new friends, some Israeli shekels, and an open invitation to tour Ramallah with a Lutheran parish from South Carolina.

TIME TRAVEL ARCHEOLOGY
An incredible journey through time is explored in Forbidden Archeology. This book offers a thorough examination of archeological finds that may stagger your belief in time travel. Read on for some examples from this amazing book....
- On June 22, 1844, this report appeared in the London Times: "A few days ago, as some workmen were employed in quarrying a rock close to the Tweed about a quarter of a mile below Rutherford-mill, a gold thread was discovered embedded in the stone at a depth of eight feet." Dr. A. W. Medd of the British Geological Survey wrote in 1985 that this stone is of Early Carboniferous age between 320 and 360 million years old. This was during the time when only amphibians and insects ruled the planet.
- In 1968, William J. Meister, a draftsman and amateur trilobite collector, reported finding a shoe print in the Wheeler Shale near Antelope Spring, Utah. This shoe-like indentation and its cast were revealed when Meister split open a block of shale. Clearly visible within the imprint were the remains of trilobites, extinct marine arthropods. The shale holding the print and the trilobite fossils is from the Cambrian, and would thus be 505 to 590 million years old. Meister described the ancient shoe-like impression in an article that appeared in the Creation Research Society Quarterly: "The heel print was indented in the rock about an eighth of an inch more than the sole. The footprint was clearly that of the right foot because the sandal was well worn on the right side of the heel in the characteristic fashion." This happened at a time when there was no plant or animal life on the earth.
- Y. Druet and H. Salfati announced in 1968 the discovery of semi-ovoid metallic tubes of identical shape but varying size in Cretaceous chalk. The chalk bed, exposed in a quarry at Saint-Jean de Livet, France, is estimated to be least 65 million years old. Having considered and eliminated several hypotheses, Druet and Salfati concluded that intelligent beings had lived 65 million years ago. Okay, who brought and left behind these metallic tubes in France more than 65 million years before the first human being would appear?
- On October 8, 1922, the American Weekly section of the New York Sunday American ran a prominent feature titled "Mystery of the Petrified 'Shoe Sole,' by Dr. W. H. Ballou. Ballou wrote: "Some time ago, while he was prospecting for fossils in Nevada, John T. Reid, a distinguished mining engineer and geologist, stopped suddenly and looked down in utter bewilderment and amazement at a rock near his feet. For there, a part of the rock itself, was what seemed to be a human footprint! Closer inspection showed that it was not a mark of a naked foot, but was, apparently, a shoe sole which had been turned into stone. The forepart was missing. But there was the outline of at least two-thirds of it, and around this outline ran a well-defined sewn thread which had, it appeared, attached the welt to the sole. Further on was another line of sewing, and in the center, where the foot would have rested had the object really been a shoe sole, there was an indentation, exactly such as would have been made by the bone of the heel rubbing upon and wearing down the material of which the sole had been made. Thus was found a fossil which is the foremost mystery of science today. For the rock in which it was found is at least 5 million years old." Reid brought the specimen to New York, and claimed that "at least two geologists have admitted that the shoe sole is valid, a genuine fossilization in Triassic rocks." The Triassic rock bearing the fossil shoe sole is now recognized as being dated at 213 - 248 million years old. Who was it that walked in our distant past more than 210 million years ago? This time was before the age of the dinosaurs.
- In 1913 Professor Hans Reck, of Berlin University, conducted investigations at Olduvai Gorge in Tanzania, then German East Africa. During his stay at Olduvai Gorge, Reck found a modern human skeleton that remains a source of mystery and controversy to this day. This modern skull is from a fully human skeleton found that year. The human skeletal remains, including this complete skull, were cemented in the rock and had to be chipped with hammers and chisels. It was found in the upper end of a rock bed dated at more than 1,000,000 years old. Modern human skull over 1 million years old?
- Did some future time traveler enter the very distant past? Was there alien visitors from another world visiting our distant past? These questions pose many different observations. Are alien visitors from our future just doing some time traveling from earth?

Turin Shroud 'shows second face'
New research into the Turin Shroud has added to the mystery surrounding the controversial artefact.
A second ghostly image of a man's face has been discovered on the back of the linen, according to a report published by London's Institute of Physics. The delicate 14ft-long linen sheet is believed by some to be the cloth in which Jesus was wrapped after being taken down from the cross. It has been dismissed by others as an elaborate hoax.
The back of the shroud has rarely been seen as it was hidden beneath a piece of cloth sewn on by nuns in 1534, after it was damaged by fire. But the back surface was exposed during a restoration project in 2002. It is extremely difficult to make a fake with these features
Professor Giulio Fanti
A professor at Italy's Padua University, Giulio Fanti, thought he saw a "faint image" in the photographs from this project and decided to investigate it further.
"Though the image is very faint, features such as nose, eyes, hair, beard and moustaches are clearly visible," he said. "There are some slight differences with the known face. For example, the nose on the reverse side shows the same extension of both nostrils, unlike the front side, in which the right nostril is less evident."
Professor Fanti has dismissed claims that the image on the back confirms that the shroud is a fake - with paint soaking from the front to the back. "This is not the case of the shroud. On both sides, the face image is superficial, involving only the outermost linen fibres," he said. "It is extremely difficult to make a fake with these features."
Shrouded in mystery
These findings are just the latest in the controversy which has dogged the cloth since it was first photographed more than 100 years ago. Carbon-dating tests carried out in 1979 and then again in 1988 suggested the shroud was a fake.
In the 1988 study, scientists from three universities concluded that the cloth dated from some time between 1260 and 1390, and that it was not the burial cloth wrapped around the body of Christ.
That led to the humiliating spectacle of the then Cardinal of Turin, Anastasio Alberto Ballestrero, admitting the garment was a hoax. But since then, some doubt has been cast on the carbon-dating techniques. In 1997, a Swiss archaeologist who spent 16 years studying the shroud said new tests had proved its authenticity "beyond all reasonable doubt".
