CIA Leak Charges Set to Be Handed Out - The Financial Times (26 October 2005)
Indictments in the CIA leak investigation case are expected to be handed down by a grand jury on Wednesday, bringing to a head a criminal inquiry that threatens to disrupt seriously President George W. Bush's second term. On Tuesday night, news reports, supported by a source close to the lawyers involved in the case, said that target letters to those facing indictment were being issued, with sealed indictments to be filed on Wednesday and released by the end of the week. Those in legal jeopardy may include Lewis "Scooter" Libby, vice-president Dick Cheney's chief of staff, and Karl Rove, Mr. Bush's chief political strategist. Mr. Cheney himself has also been linked to the inquiry into the leaking of the name of an undercover CIA operative, according to a story in Tuesday's New York Times. Patrick Fitzgerald, special prosecutor, has said he would announce any conclusion to his 22-month investigation in Washington. (...) Mr Rove and Mr Libby have continued to play an active role in advising the president. Mr Libby was part of the committee that picked Ben Bernanke as the president's nominee for chairman of the Federal Reserve. Mr Rove is involved in shoring up the beleaguered nomination of Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court. Mr Bush has praised Mr Fitzgerald's deft handling of the inquiry, which could deflate any later attempts to paint him as a partisan prosecutor over-reaching his mandate. However, Frank Luntz, Republican pollster and strategist. said: If [Fitzgerald] indicts, they [the White House] will have no choice but to attempt to demonise him. I think that is going to be really, really tough.
But another source indicates the Grand Day of Indictments will be Thursday or Friday instead...
CIA leak grand jury meets with prosecutor (Oct 26, 2005)
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The federal grand jury investigating the leak of a covert CIA operative's identity met on Wednesday with special counsel Patrick Fitzgerald amid signs the prosecutor was preparing to seek criminal charges. Fitzgerald, who has interviewed many senior White House figures as he seeks the source of the leak, declined comment as he began the session that lasted through the morning. Any charges brought by the grand jury could be sealed, preventing a public announcement by the court or the prosecutor until possibly on Thursday or Friday, when the panel is scheduled to expire. No announcement was expected on Wednesday, an administration official said. CLIP
And then it is confirmed Dick Cheney is also in the crossfire of Fitzpatrick's criminal probe...
Aides to Be Indicted, Probe to Continue (Oct 26) http://www.truthout.org/docs_2005/102605Y.shtml
(...) That Vice President Cheney is at the center of the controversy comes as no surprise. Last Friday, Fitzgerald investigators were talking to Cheney's attorneys, and detailed questionnaires, designed to pin down in meticulous sequence what Cheney knew, when he knew it, and what he told his aides, were delivered to the White House on Monday, according to these sources. The probe is far from being at an end. According to this reporter's sources, Fitzgerald approached the judge in charge of the case and asked that a new grand jury be impaneled. The old grand jury, which has been sitting for two years, will expire on October 28. CLIP
And then it even gets more interesting...
Dick at the Heart of Darkness - By Maureen Dowd - The New York Times (26 October 2005)
After W. was elected, he sometimes gave visitors a tour of the love alcove off the Oval Office where Bill trysted with Monica - the notorious spot where his predecessor had dishonored the White House. At least it was only a little pantry - and a little panting. If W. wants to show people now where the White House has been dishonored in far more astounding and deadly ways, he'll have to haul them around every nook and cranny of his vice president's office, then go across the river for a walk of shame through the Rummy empire at the Pentagon. The shocking thing about the trellis of revelations showing Dick Cheney, the self-styled Mr. Strong America, as the central figure in dark conspiracies to juice up a case for war and demonize those who tried to tell the public the truth is how un-shocking it all is. It's exactly what we thought was going on, but we never thought we'd actually hear the lurid details: Cheney and Rummy, the two old compadres from the Nixon and Ford days, in a cabal running the country and the world into the ground, driven by their poisonous obsession with Iraq, while Junior is out of the loop, playing in the gym or on his mountain bike. Mr. Cheney has been so well protected by his Praetorian guard all these years that it's been hard for the public to see his dastardly deeds and petty schemes. But now, because of Patrick Fitzgerald's investigation and candid talk from Brent Scowcroft and Lawrence Wilkerson, he's been flushed out as the heart of darkness: all sulfurous strands lead back to the man W. aptly nicknamed Vice. (...) Vice also pressed for a loophole so the C.I.A. could do torture-light on prisoners in U.S. custody, but John McCain rebuffed His Tortureness. Senator McCain has sponsored a measure to bar the cruel treatment of prisoners because he knows that this is not who we are. Colonel Wilkerson, the former chief of staff for Colin Powell, broke the code and denounced Vice's vortex, calling his own involvement in Mr. Powell's U.N. speech, infected with bogus Cheney and Scooter malarkey, "the lowest point" in his life. He followed that with a blast of blunt talk in a speech and an op-ed piece in The Los Angeles Times, saying that foreign policy had been hijacked by "a secretive, little-known cabal" that hated dissent. He said the cabal was headed by Mr. Cheney, "a vice president who speaks only to Rush Limbaugh and assembled military forces," and Donald Rumsfeld, "a secretary of defense presiding over the death by a thousand cuts of our overstretched armed forces." "I believe that the decisions of this cabal were sometimes made with the full and witting support of the president and sometimes with something less," Colonel Wilkerson wrote. CLIP
And then to top it all...
D.C. Appellate Court throws out Bush suit against DOJ to block Fitzgerald indictments (Oct 24, 2005)
Earlier today the District of Columbia Appellate Court threw out a Bush administration suit against its own Justice Department, attempting to block the issuance of Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgeralds indictments against White House officials. The White Houses initial attempt to obstruct justice and have the indictments quashed and sealed was dismissed by the D.C. District Court late Friday afternoon, according to a sequence of events based on information in the form of data from intelligence field reports. On Friday, Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez refused to sign for and issue the indictments against himself and his colleagues, which would have made them immediately public.Fitzgerald reportedly appeared with Miers and Rice that same day before the D.C. District Court. The indictments included both President Bush and Vice President Cheney, confirming our exclusive August 2, 2005 Bush-Cheney indictment story at TomFlocco.com. According to intelligence field reports, the appellate court judges reportedly laughed at Bushs White House counsel and former personal attorney Harriet Miers and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, saying you cant do this. The last ditch attempts by the White House to prevent the release of the indictments and their criminal contents were led by Miers and Rice, since Gonzalez has reportedly been indicted in an additional count for refusing to issue the original indictments as Bushs attorney general. This, also according to intelligence sources with intimate knowledge of the facts and the events who spoke with national security expert Thomas Heneghan (). Importantly, the dismissals by both the district and appellate courts will likely preclude an additional appeal by the Bush administration to the United States Supreme Court, since two consecutive reversals ordinarily result in the high court deciding not to hear the case and grant relief. This would avoid another 5-4 Supreme Court split decision similar to the controversial Bush-Gore 2000 election recount litigation which has divided the country for five years.Miers and Rice also reportedly attempted to have the courts place a gag order on Fitzgerald and the grand jury in another attempt to obstruct justice and prevent the criminal and far-reaching contents of the indictments from becoming public. According to the intelligence sources, there are now 28 indictments to be issued in Fitzgeralds first roundnot 22a fact that was not previously known up to the present time. The number may have changed as a result of new information coming to light in recent days or a decision to add additional indicted officials to the first round for other reasons. Dems Tap Patrick Fitzgerald for Impeachment Probe (Oct 22) http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2005/10/22/234208.shtml
Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee are so pleased with reports that Leakgate prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald is about to indict senior White House officials that they want him to lead an impeachment investigation into whether President Bush lied to Congress about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. "The CIA leak issue is only the tip of the iceberg, " House Judiciary Democrat Jerrold Nadler complains in a message posted to his web site. In a letter asking the Justice Department to expand the scope of Fitzgerald's investigation, Nadler says: "We now have reason to believe that high crimes may have been committed at the highest level [and] wrongdoing that may have led us to war and imperiled our national security. If there is evidence that Bush or Cheney authorized aides to deliberately mislead lawmakers, Nadler told Congressional Quarterly: "That would be an impeachable offense.'" The Manhattan Democrat is asking Acting Deputy Attorney General Robert McCallum to direct Fitzgerald to probe efforts by the White House to discredit critics of the Iraq war like former Ambassador Joe Wilson. Nadler wants Fitzgerald to determine whether attacks on Wilson were part of a "broader conspiracy knowingly to mislead Congress into authorizing a war." Even before leaks from Fitzgerald's investigation indicated he planned indictments, Rep. Maurice Hinchey let slip the Democrats' plan to impeach Bush for alleged Iraq war lies.In quotes picked up by the Ithaca Journal, Hinchey said in August: "My greatest hope is that all of these things will be revealed, they will be revealed in a very direct and legal context, and that in 2006 a Democratic majority will be elected to the House of Representatives, and in February of impeachment proceedings will begin."
So now we are surely getting closer to the heart of the matter and perhaps closer to the day when we will see this on the Time Magazine cover...
The long night of dark forces' domination over much of this planet is indeed soon coming to an end and even if some distractive moves or even darker ploys to derail the legal process of the long arm of justice are made, I'm confident we are at the dawn of a new era of untold co-creative possibilities to undo the harm done to our living Mother Earth and to countless of her children and life-forms as we will reach up to the higher ground of cosmic proportion awaiting us in our quest for the True Meaning of our existence on our infinitely long journey from Source to blazingly Love-filled Oneness with All That Is.

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."- Shakespeare in Hamlet - Radio bursts from the Galactic Center (Hunab Ku). Los Angeles, Alta California - October 18, 2005 - (ACN) On March of this year, physics professor and astronomer Scott Hyman of Sweet Briar College made a startling announcement. Dr. Hyman and his colleagues wrote in the science journal Nature that they had detected something very extraordinary at the center of our Milky Way Galaxy. While analyzing low frequency radio wave images taken by the Very Large Array telescope at Socorro, New Mexico in 2002, Dr. Hyman and his his fellow researchers detected an intermittent signal that seemed intelligently directed. The signal consisted of five highly energetic radio emissions of equal brightness that lasted 10 minutes each and appeared every 77 minutes over a 7-hour period from September 30 to October 1. The discovery has left Professor Scott Hyman and the entire astronomy community "scratching their heads". CLIP

A Declaration of Interdependence: Breaking The Chains: Global Call To Action
November 13-December 31, 2005: Buy Local, Boycott Wal-Mart and the Chains - Dear Friends, November 13-December 31, 2005, the busiest shopping season of the year, we the undersigned, call on ethically responsible people across the world to Break the Chains of self-destructive consumerism by boycotting Wal-Mart and other national and international chain stores, fast food restaurants, corporate coffeehouses, and products bearing the logos of the multinational Brand Name Bullies. Hoping to generate the largest impact possible, during the main shopping season of the year, we call upon the global grassroots to Buy Local, Buy Organic and Buy Fair Trade/Fair Made.Wal-Mart and the multinational chains are colonizing our communities and our minds, North & South, East & West, rural and urban, killing off small businesses, exploiting workers and farmers, devastating the environment, and sowing a toxic culture of cheap goods and social unaccountability. Unless we stop this Wal-Martization of our communities, we can say goodbye to Fair Trade, family farms, independent businesses, workers rights, and environmental sustainability. From Manhattan to Mexico, from China to Chile, farmers, consumers and independent businesses are resisting the invasion of Wal-Mart and the Corporate Chain stores and building grassroots power through local, green, and just commerce. The answer to Wal-Martization and so-called Free Trade is ethical consumer purchasing and political action--building and supporting local and community-based producers and businesses through solidarity, collective purchasing power, and mutual aid. Fair Trade, not Free Trade, must become the global norm, with organic and sustainable production leading the way. Local and community control over essential goods and services provides the only solid foundation for economic democracy, a sustainable environment, and public health.Help us make Buy Local Month 2005 the beginning of the end for Wal-Mart and the Corporate Chains. Please join us as we step up the pace to re-localize and green a just global economy.Consumers of the world unite! We have nothing to lose but our chains! MONSTER MASH TO FIGHT GLOBAL WARMING
Flash Movie Starring Bush, Cheney and the Oil Industry (...) "Our goal here is to make sure that people understand that one of the scariest things happening this Halloween is the Bush Administration and Congress refusing to deal with global warming in meaningful way, said Angela Ledford, director of Clear the Air. This is a fun way to spread the word about the threat posed by White House inaction on global warming, and to remind people that they can speak up and be heard." Global warming is a huge problem, and Congress is acting like a bunch of zombies, just sleepwalking through it, said entertainer Bobby Boris Picket. President Bush is even worse. We are feeling the effects of global warming now, but even as these become more obvious, Bush just keeps fiddling while the earth heats up. Thoughts in the Presence of Fear
(...) The dominant politicians, corporate officers, and investors who believed this proposition did not acknowledge that the prosperity was limited to a tiny percent of the world's people, and to an ever smaller number of people even in the United States; that it was founded upon the oppressive labor of poor people all over the world; and that its ecological costs increasingly threatened all life, including the lives of the supposedly prosperous. The "developed" nations had given to the "free market" the status of a god, and were sacrificing to it their farmers, farmlands, and communities, their forests, wetlands, and prairies, their ecosystems and watersheds. They had accepted universal pollution and global warming as normal costs of doing business. (...) We now have a clear, inescapable choice that we must make. We can continue to promote a global economic system of unlimited "free trade" among corporations, held together by long and highly vulnerable lines of communication and supply, but now recognizing that such a system will have to be protected by a hugely expensive police force that will be worldwide, whether maintained by one nation or several or all, and that such a police force will be effective precisely to the extent that it oversways the freedom and privacy of the citizens of every nation. Or we can promote a decentralized world economy which would have the aim of assuring to every nation and region a local self-sufficiency in life-supporting goods. This would not eliminate international trade, but it would tend toward a trade in surpluses after local needs had been met. (...) What leads to peace is not violence but peaceableness, which is not passivity, but an alert, informed, practiced, and active state of being. We should recognize that while we have extravagantly subsidized the means of war, we have almost totally neglected the ways of peaceableness. We have, for example, several national military academies, but not one peace academy. We have ignored the teachings and the examples of Christ, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and other peaceable leaders. And here we have an inescapable duty to notice also that war is profitable, whereas the means of peaceableness, being cheap or free, make no money. The key to peaceableness is continuous practice. It is wrong to suppose that we can exploit and impoverish the poorer countries, while arming them and instructing them in the newest means of war, and then reasonably expect them to be peaceable. Mass Murderers (Oct 12, 2005)
It is time to call the war in Iraq what it really is: the mass murder by the United States of America of at least 150,000 civilians mostly women and children. We say at least because the Bush administrations propaganda machine goes to great lengths to hide the exact number of innocents who have died as a result of our invasion of the country two years ago. The warmongers who try to con us into accepting murder as a justifiable means to an end claim the invasion was a necessary part of the so-called war on terror. Bullshit. The attacks against the Taliban in Afghanistan may have been necessary to flush out al Qaeda and punish those responsible for the 9/11 terrorist attacks but, as we should have known but learned all too late, the Iraq invasion was an ill-conceived military FUBAR based on lies, manufactured intelligence and hidden political agendas. And, according to the International Red Cross, this illegal invasion of a country that posed no immediate threat to this country has resulted in the death of at least 150,000 civilians mostly women and children at the hands of the U.S. and coalition forces. This number does not include the rising toll of civilian deaths from the almost daily suicide bombers terrorists who have entered the country and have flourished since President George W. Bush flew onto an aircraft carrier in a ridiculous photo op two years ago and declared mission accomplished. Iraq today is a country in chaos, bordering on civil war. No amount of manufactured news generated by the Dubyas spin masters can obscure those sad facts. More than 1,900 American soldiers have died in the war, one quarter of them members of the Reserves and National Guard. CLIP

As leader of the world's biggest rogue nation, committed to inspiringthrough aerial bombardment and invasion if necessarythe 95% of humanity living outside its borders to find the same paths of violence, consumption, racism, graft, addiction and religious fundamentalism that has made the United States of America what it is today, Bush usually has something interesting to say on issues concerning us all. His firm grasp of logic known only to himself, his playful command of language, and his ineffable links with a bearded vengeful God who sent him to get Armageddon rolling have made him an American leader unique (many hope) in his qualifications to head an office to which he has yet to be elected. Of course, it's presumptuous to poke fun at GW Bush when he does it so much better himself. One hundred thousand civilian murders in Iraq, planetwide radioactive contamination from America's DU weapons, crude ethnic cleansing in Louisiana, and the perils of ignoring extreme climate changes aside, the "acting" president of the United States is always good for head-shaking hysterical laughter. Congress Set to Pass Law Eliminating Liability For Vaccine Injuries (19 Oct 2005)
The National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) is calling the "Biodefense and Pandemic Vaccine and Drug Development Act of 2005" (S. 1873), which passed out of the U.S. Senate HELP Committee one day after it was introduced "a drug company stockholder's dream and a consumer's worst nightmare." ...The bill establishes the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Agency (BARDA), as the single point of authority within the government for the advanced research and development of drugs and vaccines in response to bioterrorism and natural disease outbreaks such as the flu. In its technically accurate assessment, the NVIC warns the legislation will "strip Americans of the right to a trial by jury if harmed by an experimental or licensed drug or vaccine that they are forced by government to take whenever federal health officials declare a public health emergency." (...) The bill: a) undermines drug safety laws; b) violates the constitutional right to a trial by jury in case a vaccine or drug causes injuries; c) keeps the public in the dark about every aspect of vaccine research, development, injuries, and deaths resulting from the partnership between government and the pharmaceutical lobby; and d) forces mandatory compliance with public health proclamations demanding vaccinations and/or drugs be taken by anyone declared at risk, not necessarily infected. Dr. Mercola: Avian Flue Epidemic Scare is a Hoax - Plus, Vaccine
Rumsfeld To Profit From Avian Flu Hoax - Finally, the pieces of the puzzle start to add up. Last week, President Bush sought to instill panic in this country by telling us a minimum of 200,000 people will die from the avian flu pandemic but it could be as bad as 2 million deaths in this country alone. This hoax is then used to justify the immediate purchase of 80 million doses of Tamiflu, a worthless drug that in no way, shape or form treats the avian flu, but only decreases the amount of days one is sick and can actually contribute to the virus having more lethal mutations. So the U.S. placed an order for 20 million doses of this worthless drug at a price of $100 per dose. That comes to a staggering $2 billion. We are being told that Roche manufactures Tamiflu and, in yesterday's New York Times, they were battling whether or not they would allow generic drug companies to help increase their production. But if you dig further you will find that a drug was actually developed by a company called Gilead that 10 years ago gave Roche the exclusive rights to market and sell Tamiflu. Ahh The Plot Thickens... If you read this link below from Gilead, you'll discover Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld was made the chairman of Gilead in 1997. Since Rumsfeld holds major portions of stock in Gilead, he will handsomely profit from the scare tactics of the government that is being used to justify the purchase of $2billion of Tamiflu. CLIP

Breakup of glaciers raising sea level concern
CORVALLIS, Ore. The rapid structural breakdown of some important parts of the ice sheets on Greenland and Antarctica is possible, has happened in the distant past, and some "startling changes" on the margin of these ice masses has been observed in recent years raising disturbing concerns about sea level rise. In a new report to be released Friday in the journal Science, researchers from Oregon State University and four other institutions in the U.S. and Europe outline dynamic mechanisms of glacial change that appear to be under way, could significantly speed up the melting of major ice sheets, and have not been considered in current projections for sea level rise. A possibility, scientists say, is that the melting and collapse of floating ice shelves near the coasts of Greenland and Antarctica will continue and in the process destabilize the ice sheets behind them. This could cause a much more rapid flow of ice to the sea and lead to melting events that transcend those now anticipated due to global warming. Based on this, the researchers say that current projections of sea level rise should be considered a minimum to expect, and the levels could be much higher and happen more quickly.
Thaw Gains Momentum
Many scientists say it has taken a long time for them to accept that global warming could shrink the Arctic's summer cloak of ice. But many of those same scientists have concluded that the momentum behind human-caused warming has put the familiar Arctic past the point of no return.

"Too much got destroyed and too little has been brought back on stream, the Houston-based analyst said. He also said that cold weather this winter could bring a very high risk of natural gas curtailment in the United States. "Either one of those events (oil product shortage or natural gas shortage) could send prices two to three times higher than they are today," he said after a speech in Ottawa. That could translate into natural gas prices of $40 per million British thermal units from more than $13 now, he said. Doubling or tripling crude would put it in the range of $125 to $190 per barrel. "Everyone keeps thinking there is a (price) ceiling... There is no ceiling," said Simmons, who wrote in his book "Twilight in the Desert" that Saudi oil output is at or near its peak.He said he has seen little sign that higher prices so far have done much to reduce consumption. Simmons said supplies of heating fuel oil were in okay shape, but could drain fast if the weather turned cold. Diesel is tight and shortages of jet fuel had caused some planes to be diverted from some airports."It's going to be painful for people to get used to actually paying real money for a really valuable resource," he said.
Environmental Studies Waived in Push for New Oil, Gas Drilling (October 19, 2005)
WASHINGTON In an aggressive push by the Bush administration to open more public land to oil and gas production, the Interior Department has quit conducting environmental reviews and seeking comments from local residents every time drilling companies propose new wells. Field officials have been told to begin looking at issuing permits based on past studies of an entire project, even though some of those assessments may be outdated. The instructions are in a directive from the department's Bureau of Land Management expected to cover hundreds of anticipated new drilling applications. President Bush and Congress authorized the streamlining as part of a 1,724-page energy bill signed into law in August. BLM officials, saying the need for energy supplies is immediate, showed unusual speed implementing it. Kathleen Clarke, the agency's director, sent out the new guidance Sept. 30. "Yes, it is a priority of the White House," BLM Deputy Director Jim Hughes said in an interview. "We are moving expeditiously to implement the law. We think all these items will increase the supply this winter. However, everyone is saying it won't be enough to wipe out the impact of the hurricanes and all that." CLIP
Selective Logging Fails to Sustain Rainforest (21 October 2005)
A four-year, comprehensive survey of the Amazon Basin in Brazil reveals that selective logging - the practice of cutting down just one or two tree species in an area - creates an additional 60 to 123 percent more damage than deforestation alone. Combining field surveys with data gathered from a satellite-imaging system that has a resolution as fine as one tree, scientists at Carnegie Institution of Washington in Stanford, Calif., determined that not only have traditional analysis methods missed more than 50 percent of the damage caused by timber harvest, but that selective loggings results in 25 percent more greenhouse gases entering the atmosphere. (...) In short, they determined that for every tree removed, 30 more become severely damanged. That's because selective logging is inherently destructive, the team says. When a tree is cut down, vines growing between it and other trees will pull down neighbors. The space that opens up becomes dry and susceptible to burning. Additionally, tractors and skidders used to remove the hardwoods destroy the forest floor and promote additional logging. What's more, felled trees, the decomposing debris left behind on the forest floor and the large amounts of sawdust procured at sawmills release carbon dioxide gas into the atmosphere. Traditional deforestation unleashes 400 million tons of carbon every year, and Asner and his colleagues estimate selective logging produces an additional 100 million tons. Asner is making his research available to the Brazilian government that is now charged with enforcing logging laws across an area even more afflicted that previously thought.
The Sorrow of Haiti
Sometime this fall the U.S plans to hold supposedly "democratic" elections. The process is hopelessly fraudulent and flawed, and "rigged" by the US to be sure their "acceptable" candidate won. Similar to recent elections in Afghanistan, Palestine, Iraq and soon in Haiti.
Wilma strengthens, heads out to sea
Wilma continues to confound forecasters, and has intensified once more into a Category 3 hurricane with 125 mph winds, despite wind shear levels that would normally barely support a hurricane. In fact, Wilma is close to Category 4 status-- The 5 pm hurricane hunter flight found winds at 10,000 feet of 157 mph, which normally translates to a surface wind of 140 mph--Category 4 winds. Wilma is over the Gulf Stream, which has warm water temperatures of 28 C capable of supporting a major hurricane. (...) Between 30-40% of the population in Cancun has suffered some damage to their housing. Reports are not in yet from the hardest hit areas, Cozumel and Playa del Carmen, which is a bad sign. Wilma caused heavy damage in Havana, where huge waves pushed flood waters up to four blocks inland, and flooded the city up to three feet deep. Damage to Haiti, Jamaica, Honduras, and Belize was also substantial. I'll have more detailed damage statistics when they become available. Including the damage done to Mexico, Wilma will probably be the second most costly hurricane of all time, next to Katrina. CLIP
This extremely powerful 89 minute film presents comprehensive documentation from United States Government archives of a massive cover-up, including military and civilian experimentation, dating back over 60 years. Hear the testimony of experts and of United States military veterans who demand answers to questions that the Department of Defense will not address. What causes Gulf War Illness?(a.k.a. Gulf War Syndrome; Persian Gulf Illness) Some believe these illnesses are caused by exposure to depleted uranium munitions used on the battlefield. Others believe chemical and biological exposures are the prime suspect. While yet an even larger group argue that experimental vaccines given to our troops, without their knowledge or consent, may have lead to the demise of many of these soldiers. Is it a combination of overlapping exposures? Depleted Uranium Exposure Chemical & Biological Exposures Experimental Vaccinations. A growing number of scientists and respected experts in their fields have been coming forward to share their research and first-hand knowledge of official betrayal. As ailing Gulf War Heroes from all 27 coalition countries slowly die of unknown causes, they wait for answers from their respective governments
but no satisfying or even credible answers have come forth from the military establishment. Records that span over a decade point to negligence and even culpability on the part of the U.S. Department of Defense and their disposable army mentality. From the first Gulf War the VA has determined that 250,000 troops are now permanently disabled, 15,000 troops are dead and over 425,000 troops are ill and slowly dying from what the Department of Defense still calls a mystery disease. How many more will have to die before action is taken? Recommended by Jens Jerndal email@example.com>

American companies and employees working in China must kowtow to China's free speech restrictions if they wish to do business in the country. Their silence amounts to collaboration with the Chinese government's repressive policies. Americans should speak up and resist.

Thanks AGAIN Beloved Light Brother for so much wonderful work...
No words can ever possibly describe how I look forward to getting your compilations. ....
May you be blessed a million times...
Check my website when you have a minute - it is not completed but at least it is a start.
All my love - lou
Note from Jean: I recommend to everyone to pay a visit to Lous site.
Here is the magnificent intro letter she wrote for it...
Beloved Brothers and Beloved Sisters in the Light,
This website, like life itself, is a work in progress
Your interactions with me will contribute to the ways and the infinite possibilities in which it can change, grow, adapt and evolve.
My objectives for a website are many and varied, but at the heart of them all remains my commitment to the Service of the Light: through healing, sharing information and being a meeting point for all those who search for a connection to the greater realms of spirit and the understanding that we are indeed ONE with ALL THAT IS.
I have a dream - and my dream is not mine alone - we are many who share this dream for a long, very long time. We share the dream of a better and gentler world - a world where we become our brother's keeper, a world where we work for love and peace instead of hatred and war; a world where we all shall learn how to help and to heal each other, to share both our knowledge and our resources with love and wisdom; a world where we honor the memory we carry within, of who we truly are, and what we came here to do.
We are the Legions of Light - awakening from the long night of darkness, fear and ignorance. Our common destiny is to make our dream come through and manifest it in every possible way, so that we just not only know that we are the instruments of Light but that we act and start bringing forth another world, another reality and another awareness in humanity, for such IS the DIVINE PLAN for the loving little planet we call EARTH, the planet where all universes and realities are merging.
It is with deepest love from my heart and soul that I welcome you to share on this journey we are all traveling together and it is with sincere gratitude that I will welcome your suggestions and input on how to make this website grow, for the greater good of all.
With Love and Light,
UPON READING THAT I WAS TO SHARE THIS WITH ALL OF YOU, LOU REPLIED:
You know Dear Brother?
It is with these kinds of interactions that we, the Family of Light, keep going and really learn that indeed time is here - now - for the Family to finally meet and share each other's gifts.
I absolutely loved it that you found my website's introduction fabulous. And is not the ego in me that rejoices but the Soul for it is indeed a FABULOUS time to be alive, in the full knowledge that we no longer need to simply try to survive, but LIVE in the full awareness that we all have the Divine Presence as our Guide, Protector and Inspirer. Our Light work now is to pass on this knowledge and trigger this sacred encoded memory on ALL our brothers and sisters.
That is what gives me the greatest JOY.
May you be blessed infinitely and may you continue your work in alignment with your own Divine Presence, for the greater good of us all.
All my love, your Light Sister from Johannesburg in the rainbow nation,

Subject: Feedback Re Powerful winds of change sweeping the world
Date: 22 Oct 2005
Thank you Jean for this last series, with so much valuable information. Indeed I feel the power of change sweeping the world at all levels of society. Let us see the avian flue scapegoat just as another opportunity to stand true in the light, in full faith and letting no fear weaken us. Indeed our core being is the I Am, the divine essence. We are god beings with God's attributes in manifestation. We are perfection when no fear is allowed in and our love for ourselves and for the whole of Creation is what keeps us safe and alive. I bless Matthew and Suzy and all the other authors for sharing information on avian flu and vaccinations. It is always comforting to find sign posts along the road confirming what we feel from within.
Love to all those who stand firm in the light.

Subject: Channeled source says "indictments are going ahead"
Date: 24 Oct 2005
From: Mike Quinsey email@example.com>
St. Germain - 10.22.05
You have a saying good news travels fast, and in spite of it being ignored by the media it is spreading like wildfire. In a special message from Hatonn through Nancy Tate, it has again been confirmed that the indictments are going ahead. It should not be long before they are officially announced. The dark are overwhelmed by what is happening, and in their arrogance thought that they could still stop the process of justice. I tell you higher forces than those on Earth are interested and determined to see the correct outcome, and that the changes will come regardless of any action that takes place to try and stop them.
It is time at last to restore all that you have lost through the erosion of your freedom. Time to resurrect the Constitution which was conceived by the Spiritual Hierarchy and the model for the entire world. So it shall be again, and the representatives of Light are on Earth to ensure that it happens in accordance with the divine decree. The original Constitution was the embodiment of spiritual laws that are not to be ignored. You have seen what happens when Man strays from the path, and it is nothing but chaos and dismay.
Nevertheless, out of all of this is a lesson well learnt, that you cannot hand over your sovereignty to anyone else. Over centuries of oppression you have been led to believe that you were slaves to those in power. You have been used to establish empires that have abused the natural inhabitants of lands, and stolen their resources. You have marched into lands to convert people to another faith, and although this may have been seen as God's work, it was more akin to the devil. The sovereignty of people must be respected as must their beliefs. All are searching for their own truth and there are many paths to it, and it is not for another to take it away.
The beauty of life on Earth is its multitudinous beliefs, the panoply of God's that all give experience in the understanding of the One. Naturally those who feel they hold the greater truth wish to share it, but to enforce it is not acceptable. The lessons of life are learnt in people's own good time, and there is all infinity in which to learn them. It is true that you are now in a period when all needs to brought to a conclusion, and this is in order and necessary at the end-times.
However, the truth is still not forced upon anyone but is offered for consideration. Should anyone refuse it that is their prerogative and they will remain on their present path. This is why another Earth is prepared for those who do not wish to move out of this 3rd dimension into the higher dimensions. Spirit does not force the issue but offers all alternatives for choice, and it has always been up to you as to how fast you evolve.
In the remaining time of this cycle which will now begin in earnest, everyone will still have the opportunity to change their path. Indeed, as the truth becomes known more people will be able to adjust their beliefs and make room for the greater truths. It is a matter of accepting what is, rather than what you have been led to believe. Hitherto, you have looked to others for your instruction and guidance and you have been molded into their beliefs and not your own. However, many have broken away from what is often rigid indoctrination, and in seeking for themselves have chanced upon the truth.
When the Masters return along with many Higher Beings, you will have every opportunity to explore your history and the truth about yourselves. You will know by now that we tell you often that you are already great Beings. It is just that you have been in the lower vibrations for so long, that you have forgotten your true identities. In the years that are to follow, we will enlighten you again. As we have said before, those that aspire to ascend and are ready will have their full consciousness restored.
You shall see much coming and going for a while, and it will be difficult to assess what is happening as there will be attempts to suppress the truth and subvert justice. There will be some confusion against the backcloth of Mother Earth continuing to flex her muscles as cleansing takes place. There will also be attempts by the dark to cause confusion, and they could become aggressive as a last effort to avoid their fate. Be assured that at this stage, we have no intention of allowing any interference to prevent natural justice from taking place. The Galactic Federation are poised ready to act for your protection, and are closely monitoring every event. They see into every dark corner and into the shadow world of the negative forces.
I am St. Germain coming to you at an auspicious time that bodes well for your future. It is somewhat like clearing up after the storm, and soon the rubbish and debris of many centuries of negative thinking and actions will be cleared away. Then we can all get on with the restoration of Mother Earth and onto the path to Ascension. What wonderful and fulfilling times are ahead, and I already feel your joy and excitement at this prospect. We are closer to you than ever before, and as always are surrounding you all in love, and I mean everyone regardless of their chosen role at this time.
Thank you St. Germain
IMPEACH BUSH AND ENTER THE "GUESS HOW MANY INDICTMENTS" POOL (Oct 23)
There is a storm of historic proportions headed for the United States, one that will make Hurricane Wilma (also en route) look like a small splash in the pond by comparison. It's been building and gathering strength in the increasingly hot waters of the Special Counsel's office for almost two years, and in a matter of days it may lay waste to the entire political infrastructure of Washington, D.C., from one end to the other. BUSH TRYING TO SMASH INDICTMENTS!
by Sherman H. Skolnick, co-host
The occupant and resident of the Oval Office is pulling out all stops to wreck pending indictments.
The not yet publicized Federal Grand Juries' True Bills apparently deal with espionage and treason committed by George W. Bush and Richard Cheney. Also likewise reportedly named in the conspiracy charges as Federal Criminal Defendants or unindicted co-conspirators are numerous other White House and Pentagon biggies and reputed spies claiming to be mass media "journalists".
Advised by Bush White House Counsel Harriet Miers, recently nominated by Bush to the U.S. Supreme Court, Bush is using the Federal Courts in the District of Columbia to contest the legal validity of the Grand Jury actions. Ostensibly contained in the federal court records but under a very stringent gag order are BUSH'S WILD CONTENTIONS to the judges that he is the victim of "a foreign-orchestrated coup" being perpetrated by his numerous Jewish-surname advisors and, as Bush accuses with generalities, jointly by "France" and "Israel".
Bluntly put, like the Bush Family long-time pro-Nazi position, George W. Bush, like Adolf Hitler, is "playing the Jew Card". This now done to evade deadly serious charges of espionage, treason, and falsely going to war against Iraq while using the White House Iraq Group as an instrument of unconstitutional treachery. The indictments mess may end up in the U.S. Supreme Court, dominated by proto-Fascist Justice Antonin Scalia, the Court in 2000 corruptly splitting 5 to 4 in Bush vs Gore.
Meanwhile, no one is reminding Bush that a G.O.P.-dominated High Court in 1974 nevertheless ruled against Nixon and caused his resignation shortly thereafter in the "White House Watergate Tape" ruckus.
IF Bush told the D.C. Courts now in secret emergency sessions the TRUTH---which he is NOT doing---he would say the group historically who foment Revolution for their Globalist agenda using ELITE JEWS, and others as a SCAPEGOAT FRONT, are the JESUITS and other POPISH PERSONS, a forbidden topic but not censored HERE.
More coming. Stay tuned.

THIS MAN - PATRICK FITZGERALD - IS ABOUT TO BECOME AN INTERNATIONAL CELEBRITY. DISCOVER JUST WHO HE IS..
Leak Prosecutor Is Called Exacting and Apolitical
By SCOTT SHANE and DAVID JOHNSTON
October 22, 2005
WASHINGTON, Oct. 19 - In 13 years prosecuting mobsters and terrorists in New York, Patrick J. Fitzgerald earned a public reputation for meticulous preparation, a flawless memory and an easy eloquence. Only his colleagues knew that these orderly achievements emerged from the near-total anarchy of his office, where the relentless Mr. Fitzgerald often slept during big cases.
"You'd open a drawer, looking for a pen or Post-it notes, and it would be full of dirty socks," recalled Karen Patton Seymour, a former assistant United States attorney who tried a major case with him. "He was a mess. Food here, clothes there, papers everywhere. But behind all that was a totally organized mind."
That mind, which has taken on Al Qaeda and the Gambino crime family, is now focused on the most politically volatile case of Mr. Fitzgerald's career. As the special prosecutor who has directed the C.I.A. leak investigation, he is expected to decide within days who, if anyone, will be charged with a crime.
To seek indictments against the White House officials caught up in the inquiry would deliver a devastating blow to the Bush administration. To simply walk away after two years of investigation, which included the jailing of a reporter for 85 days for refusing to testify, would invite cries of cover-up and waste.
Yet Mr. Fitzgerald's past courtroom allies and adversaries say that consideration of political consequences will play no role in his decision.
"I don't think the prospect of a firestorm would deter him," said J. Gilmore Childers, who worked with Mr. Fitzgerald on high-profile terrorism prosecutions in New York during the 1990s. "His only calculus is to do the right thing as he sees it."
Stanley L. Cohen, a New York lawyer who has defended those accused of terrorism in a half-dozen cases prosecuted by Mr. Fitzgerald, said he never detected the slightest political leanings, only a single-minded dedication to the law.
"There's no doubt in my mind that if he's found something, he won't be swayed one way or the other by the politics of it," Mr. Cohen said. "For Pat, there's no such thing as a little crime you can ignore."
Mr. Fitzgerald, 44, whose regular job is as the United States attorney in Chicago, is a hard man to pigeonhole. The son of Irish immigrants - his father, Patrick Sr., was a Manhattan doorman - he graduated from Amherst College and Harvard Law School. Though he is a workaholic who sends e-mail messages to subordinates at 2 a.m. and has never married, friends say the man they call Fitzie is a hilarious raconteur and great company for beer and baseball. Ruthless in his pursuit of criminals, he once went to considerable trouble to adopt a cat.
"He's a prankster and a practical joker," said Ms. Seymour, who now practices law in New York, recalling when Mr. Fitzgerald drafted a fake judge's opinion denying a key motion and had it delivered to a colleague. "But he's also brilliant. When he's trying a complicated case, there's no detail he can't recall."
Mr. Fitzgerald was appointed in December 2003 by James B. Comey, then the deputy attorney general and an old friend, to investigate the disclosure in a column by Robert Novak of the identity of an undercover operative for the Central Intelligence Agency, Valerie Wilson, also referred to by her maiden name, Valerie Plame. Her husband, Joseph C. Wilson IV, a former diplomat who had traveled to Niger on behalf of the C.I.A. to check on reports that Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein was seeking uranium there, had publicly accused the White House of twisting the evidence to justify war against Iraq.
Lawyers involved in the case say Mr. Fitzgerald appears to be examining whether high-level officials who spoke to reporters about the Wilsons sought to mislead prosecutors about their discussions. Those under scrutiny include Karl Rove, the top political adviser to President Bush, and I. Lewis Libby Jr., the chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney.
In grand jury sessions, Mr. Fitzgerald has struck witnesses as polite and exacting. Matthew Cooper, a Time magazine reporter who wrote about his two and half hours of testimony, said that the prosecutor's questions were asked "in microscopic, excruciating detail."
Before he testified, Mr. Cooper recalled that Mr. Fitzgerald counseled him to say what he remembered and no more. "If I show you a picture of your kindergarten teacher and it really refreshes your memory say so," Mr. Cooper wrote, quoting Mr. Fitzgerald. "If it doesn't, don't say yes just because I show you a photo of you and her sitting together."
Judith Miller, the New York Times reporter who wrote about her two grand jury appearances, said that Mr. Fitzgerald asked questions that reflected a deep knowledge of the leak case as he led her through her dealings with Mr. Libby.
Mr. Fitzgerald has drawn criticism from press advocates for his aggressive pursuit of journalists he believes may have been told about the secret C.I.A. employment of Ms. Wilson. Ms. Miller served nearly three months in jail this summer before agreeing to testify. In pursuing leads that have made him a threat to the White House, Mr. Fitzgerald is following a pattern set by previous special prosecutors. Some allies of the White House complain privately that he has taken on some of the worst traits of his predecessors. Republicans criticized Lawrence E. Walsh for his handling of the Iran-Contra scandal in the Reagan administration, while Democrats attacked Kenneth W. Starr's performance in the Whitewater probe and Monica Lewinsky sex scandal under President Clinton. The two prosecutors operated under the independent counsel law, which both parties let die in 1999.
Katy J. Harriger, a political scientist at Wake Forest University who has studied special prosecutors, said that Mr. Fitzgerald had some advantages over his predecessors. He has essentially all the powers of the attorney general to chase evidence, question witnesses and seek charges. Unlike Mr. Walsh and Mr. Starr, both former judges, Mr. Fitzgerald is a career prosecutor. And as a Bush administration appointee, he is less vulnerable to attack from the White House.
"It will be much harder than it was with Starr to say this is a partisan prosecution," Ms. Harriger said.
Some attorneys who admire Mr. Fitzgerald detect a hint of zealotry or inflexibility in his approach and wonder whether what works with terrorism translates to an inside-the-Beltway case involving White House officials and their multilayered relationships with journalists.
In Mr. Fitzgerald's world, a former colleague recalled, it was pretty clear who had black hats and who had white hats, there was not a lot of gray.
But Mr. Cohen, whose defense work on behalf of Hamas and other groups has provoked controversy, says he has always found Mr. Fitzgerald willing to listen, and to distinguish between militant rhetoric and genuine terrorist plotting. "If I need a straight answer from a federal prosecutor, I call Pat," Mr. Cohen said.
Mr. Fitzgerald's moral grounding began at Our Lady Help of Christians school in his native Brooklyn. He attended Regis High School, a Jesuit institution in Manhattan for gifted students, all of whom attend on scholarship. At Amherst, where he majored in math and economics, he was an unassuming kid with a New York accent who was a stellar student, one others frequently turned to for help, recalled Walter Nicholson, an economics professor.
At Amherst, he worked part time as a custodian; in the summers during college and law school, his father helped him find work as a doorman.
After three years in private practice, he joined the United States attorney's office for the southern district of New York and quickly distinguished himself.
"I've tried a lot of cases, and he's probably the toughest adversary I've ever seen," said Roger L. Stavis, a New York defense lawyer who faced Mr. Fitzgerald during the 1995 terrorism trial of Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman. Mr. Stavis prided himself on knowing the web of Muslim extremists but was surprised when Mr. Fitzgerald asked a witness about Osama bin Laden, then an obscure figure.
"I thought, 'I don't know who Osama bin Laden is, but he's in Pat Fitzgerald's crosshairs,' " Mr. Stavis said. In 2001, Mr. Fitzgerald led the team that convicted four men in the 1998 bombings of two American embassies in East Africa.
During his time in New York, Mr. Fitzgerald's hapless bachelor ways became legendary. For months he did not bother to have the gas connected to the stove in his Brooklyn apartment. Once, in a fit of domesticity, he baked two pans of lasagna, recalled Amy E. Millard, a New York colleague. Distracted by work, he left them uneaten in the oven for three months before he discovered them, Ms. Millard said. When he tried to adopt a cat, she remembered, he was turned down because of his work habits and only later acquired a pet when a friend in Florida had to give up her cat and had it flown to him to New York.
Some of the cases Mr. Fitzgerald handled after moving to Chicago in 2001 have expanded his experience into the sensitive and murky arena of political corruption. He indicted a former governor of Illinois, George Ryan, in a scandal involving the Illinois secretary of state's office, as well as two aides to Mayor Richard Daley on mail-fraud charges.
But those cases bear little resemblance to the C.I.A. leak investigation, with its potential implications for national politics. Samuel W. Seymour, another former New York prosecutor and Karen's husband, said it is easy to politically "triangulate" most government lawyers, noting which were mentored by Democrats or promoted by Republicans. But not Mr. Fitzgerald.
"Some people may feel he's independent to a fault, because his independence makes him unpredictable," Mr. Seymour said. "I think it makes him the perfect person for this job."
Fitzgerald Seen as Incorruptible
Plucked from New York in 2001 to run the Chicago office of the Justice Department, Patrick Fitzgerald, the Brooklyn-born son of Irish immigrants, has a reputation as an incorruptible prosecutor in the mold of Chicago crime-fighter Eliot Ness, who took on Al Capone's criminal empire.
As Clock Ticks in CIA-Leak Probe, Bush in Shadow of Storm
Fitzgerald is probing allegations that senior Bush administration officials committed a crime by blowing the cover of CIA operative Valerie Plame.... The affair cuts to the heart of the allegedly dubious intelligence used to drive the United States into a conflict which has now cost nearly 2,000 US lives.
As soon as Fitzgerald announces his decision in a press conference, a walk from the grand jury room to the magistrate's office in US District Court, or a posting on his web site, the political détente will end. The knives will come out. It will be an all-out rhetorical war.
Libby First Learned about Plame from Cheney
I. Lewis Libby Jr., Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff, first learned about the CIA officer at the heart of the leak investigation in a conversation with Mr. Cheney weeks before her identity became public in 2003, lawyers involved in the case said Monday.
Bob Herbert: How Scary Is This?
The White House is sweating out the possibility that one or more top officials will soon be indicted on criminal charges. But according to Bob Herbert, the Bush administration is immune to prosecution for its greatest offense - its colossal and profoundly tragic incompetence.
Bush Calls CIA Leak Case 'Very Serious'
US President George W. Bush said on Monday the investigation into the outing of a covert CIA operative was "very serious," even as Republican allies started casting aspersions on the prosecutor and the possibility of perjury charges.
The Case against the Cheney Cabal
Whatever news Fitzgerald makes this week, the case has shed light on how Cheney and his clique of advisers cleared the way to war, and how they obsessed over critics who got in the way. The Cheney gang has been fighting a battle for decades with the intelligence bureaucracy, which they see as "dim and timid."
Leak Case Renews Questions on War's Rationale
The legal and political stakes are of the highest order, but the investigation into the disclosure of a covert CIA officer's identity is also just one skirmish in the continuing battle over the Bush administration's justification for the war in Iraq.
Old Bush vs. New
The Bush administration is bracing for a powerful new attack by Brent Scowcroft, the respected national security adviser to the first President George Bush. Scowcroft's critique of both of the style and the substance of the Bush White House is slated to appear in Monday's edition of the New Yorker magazine.

OTTAWA CEMENTS U.S. HEGEMONY OVER CANADA - 9/11 THE PRETEXT (Oct 21)
As the fourth anniversary of 9/11 approached in the year 2005, many of us were still wondering what precisely happened on that terrifyng day. What is certain, is that the official story, the party line emanating from Washington, and faithfully repeated by Ottawa, has been glibly trotted out in the complete absence of any shred of supporting proof, while the overwhelming body of evidence pointing to the tragic events of 9/11 as having been carefully orchestrated by what some consider to be the most powerful people in the world, have been entirely ignored, and those who [attempt to]bring it to light, are either ignored in the cacaphony of hysteria and deception, or are branded conspiracy theorists. Very troubling is the fact that the Government of Canada has been cementing US control over Canada and Canadians under the pretext of the "war on terror". Most recently, it would seem that the U.S. got Canada to agree to U.S. demands that Canadians branded "potential terrorists" are to be barred from the right to fly, a right guaranteed under s.6 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms of the Canadian Constitution. If the U.S. precedent is anything to draw from, what the U.S. government got from its henchmen in Ottawa, is a ban against travelling levelled at any Canadian who expresses concerns and reservations over the U.S. government's agenda. Several Green Party USA editions of its e-mail bulletin report that such has been the fate of senior Green party USA officials, who were listed as potential terrorists and/or terrorist sympathizers, and therefore barred from flying both internally, and out of the country. Thus, democratic dissent, a right that has long been recognized, and one enshrined in the Constitution of Canada, will, be severely curtailed if Justice Minister Irwin Cotler has his way, via entirely arbitrary and secretive decisions made by a government - presumably that based in Washington - for which a handful of front-people based in Ottawa, masquerade as ministers. Since Ottawa had gone so far as to black out pages from a report compiled by its own External Affairs department concerning the prospect of Canadians being abducted via "renditions" (truly Orwellian newspeak- the proper English word is kidnap) by Bush's agents, we should be very seriously concerned about the "no fly" list being used to compile names of possible Canadian abductees. The U.S. president intimated that such was possible, inasmuch as he stated that Canadians should be sure that the U.S. will do whatever it sees fit in order to protect its integrity against terrorists. In that light, Canadians would do well to remember that the current regime in Washington believes strongly in "pre-emptive strikes" (which could explain why the administration in Ottawa blacked out External Affairs' above-mentioned report, as noted by the Montreal Gazette), while their own elected officials are determined to prove their loyal commitment to the "war on terror". These measures come on the heels of "anti-terrorism legislation" by which the police can conduct searches and seizures of a person's property at will and without a warrant, can arrest and detain a person on suspicion of terrorism, and that person's defence counsel cannot even see, much less test, the evidence presented by the secret services, and martial law could be imposed at the will of a handful of ministers. Additionally, U.S. forces have been permitted to land and operate within Canada without having to seek the Canadian government's prior permission - and can operate "near the border" Incidentally, our biggest population centres are near the border. Why Can't the Left Face the Stolen Elections of 2004 & 2008?
by Bob Fitrakis and Harvey Wasserman
If some of its key publications are any indicator, much of the American left seems unable to face the reality that the election of 2004 was stolen. So in all likelihood, unless something radical is done, 2008 will be too.
Misguided and misinformed articles in both TomPaine.com and Mother Jones Magazine indicate a dangerous inability to face the reality that these stolen elections mean nothing less than the death of what's left of American democracy, and the permanent enthronement of the Rovian GOP.
As investigative reporters based in Columbus, Ohio, we witnessed first-hand, up close and personal, exactly how the 2004 election was stolen, and how it will most likely be done in 2008. In the precinct in which Harvey Wasserman grew up, and in the one where Bob Fitrakis now lives, we saw the well-funded, profoundly cynical and deadly effective mechanisms by which the Bush-Cheney-Rove-Blackwell GOP machine switched a victory for John Kerry to an easily-repeatable defeat for democracy.
That Kerry and the spineless Ohio and national Democratic Parties have been complicit is a crucial part of the problem much of the left also seems unwilling to face. But if you live in Franklin County, Ohio, and watch the Republican and Democratic Parties run joint pickets against progressive candidate, and cut backroom deals allowing incumbents of either party run unopposed, you may miss the full scope of the disaster.
And until the left faces the rot that defines the Democratic Party, there is no hope for a fair election in this country. In other words: those who think the White House can be retaken in 2008, but refuse to face the theft of the vote in 2004, should prepare to be ruled by the likes of Jeb Bush, now and forever.
Before we go into the sordid details, we have to ask: exactly what is it about Team Bush that makes people think they could not or would not steal an American election? Do they lack funds? Do they lack expertise? Is there something in the Machiavellian/mobster moral code of Karl Rove and the Bush Family that would prevent them from doing here what they've been doing throughout the Third World for so long?
CIA meister Poppy Bush long ago perfected the art and science of stealing elections. US manipulators have interfered with and tipped elections for decades. Why should Ohio be any different? Especially when all the world knew control of the most powerful office on earth would be decided right here.
Lets do the bookends: before the voting, Ohio's infamous Republican Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell clearly and vehemently denied poll access to teams of international observers from the United Nations and other international election observers.
Since the election, he has effectively stonewalled and sabotaged all recount attempts, to the point that no credible accounting of the Ohio election has ever been done. To this day, at least 100,000 votes remain uncounted, electronic voting machines remain unaudited, key hardware and data files have been trashed, paper ballots have sat unguarded for anyone to pilfer and tallies in dozens of key counties remain filled with statistical impossibilities.
In our How the GOP Stole America's 2004 Election & Is Rigging 2008, we list more than 180 bullet points on how this theft was perpetrated. It was a brilliant, cynical and masterfully executed campaign of death by a thousand cuts.

GAO Report Finds Flaws in Electronic Voting
Rep. Waxman led twelve members of Congress today in releasing a new GAO report that found security and reliability flaws in the electronic voting process.
The Illusion of Normality (October 18, 2005)
Never in the 229 years of United States history has this government of, by and for the people been in greater peril. Not during the Civil War, not during the great depression, and not during the Second World War or the Cold War which followed. Until today, gross incompetence, abuse of power, corruption, corporatocracy, and federal insolvency could be checked and reversed by balanced and separated governmental powers, and at the ballot box by a citizenry informed and provoked by an alert and independent media. Now all branches of government and the mainstream media are dominated by the wealthy elites in control of a single political party. Can you believe this? If not, you are in the company of a majority of Americans who might respond to the above jeremiad with Oh cmon now, it cant be as bad as all that! Weve always had incompetence, corruption, waste, fraud and abuse in the federal government, and stolen elections are as old as the republic. Its no different now. So long as that majority of Americans believes this, the rule of the Busheviks and its successor oligarch regimes will be secure. Thus Bush, Inc. and its obedient mainstream media are desperately endeavoring to nourish and sustain this illusion of normality. CLIP
U.S. Navy Sued over 'Ear-Splitting' Sonar on Whales
October 20, 2005 By Jill Serjeant, Reuters
LOS ANGELES A coalition of environmental groups sued the U.S. Navy Wednesday over the use of sonar, saying that the ear-splitting sounds can cause mass whale and dolphin strandings and internal bleeding.
The Natural Defense Resources Council, or NRDC, leading the coalition, said in a federal lawsuit that sonar used in routine training and testing violated environmental laws. It accused the Navy of failing to take precautions that could spare marine animals injury and death.
Actor Pierce Brosnan, in a videotaped statement, said that without reasonable limits military sonar could contribute to the extinction of some species.
"We owe it to our children to be better stewards of the environment," Brosnan said. "The alternative? -- a world without whales. It's too terrible to imagine."
The Navy had no direct comment on the lawsuit but said in a statement that sonar use and training was critical to U.S. national defense.
Animal welfare organizations have been lobbying for years to restrict military sonar, which is used to locate submarines and other underwater objects.
They have documented dozens of cases of mass whale strandings and deaths around the world that they say are associated with sonar blasts, which are thought to disorient marine mammals and can cause bleeding from the eyes and ears.
Two years ago the NRDC and other groups successfully blocked the global deployment of the U.S. Navy's low-frequency active sonar system and restricted its use to testing and training in a limited area of the north-west Pacific Ocean.
Wednesday's lawsuit targets mid-frequency sonar which the coalition said can emit noise above 235 decibels and sounds like a rocket blasting off.
The suit said the Navy's use of mid-frequency sonar violates the Marine Mammal Act and at least two other federal laws. The legal action seeks to compel the Navy to take precautions such as avoiding migration routes and breeding areas or increasing the volume of sonar activity gradually so that mammals have a chance to flee.
"Military sonar needlessly threatens whole populations of whales and other marine animals," said Joel Reynolds, an NRDC lawyer. "In violation of our environmental laws, the Navy refuses to take basic precautions that could spare these majestic creatures. Now we're asking the courts to enforce those laws."
The Navy said it had "developed and implemented a comprehensive strategy for assessing the potential effects of its use of mid-range active sonar on marine mammals.
"We employ scientifically-based protective measures as part of that strategy," the Navy statement said.

Behind Gold's Glitter: Torn Lands and Pointed Questions
October 24, 2005 - The Cost of Gold
By JANE PERLEZ and KIRK JOHNSON
There has always been an element of madness to gold's allure. For thousands of years, something in the eternally lustrous metal has driven people to the outer edges of desire - to have it and hoard it, to kill or conquer for it, to possess it like a lover.
In the early 1500's, King Ferdinand of Spain laid down the priorities as his conquistadors set out for the New World. "Get gold," he told them, "Humanely if possible, but at all costs, get gold."
In that long and tortuous history, gold has now arrived at a new moment of opportunity and peril.
The price of gold is higher than it has been in 17 years - pushing $500 an ounce. But much of the gold left to be mined is microscopic and is being wrung from the earth at enormous environmental cost, often in some of the poorest corners of the world.
And unlike past gold manias, from the time of the pharoahs to the forty-niners, this one has little to do with girding empires, economies or currencies. It is almost all about the soaring demand for jewelry, which consumes 80 percent or more of the gold mined today.
The extravagance of the moment is provoking a storm among environmental groups and communities near the mines, and forcing even some at Tiffany & Company and the world's largest mining companies to confront uncomfortable questions about the real costs of mining gold.
"The biggest challenge we face is the absence of a set of clearly defined, broadly accepted standards for environmentally and socially responsible mining," said Tiffany's chairman, Michael Kowalski. He took out a full-page advertisement last year urging miners to make "urgently needed" reforms.
Consider a ring. For that one ounce of gold, miners dig up and haul away 30 tons of rock and sprinkle it with diluted cyanide, which separates the gold from the rock. Before they are through, miners at some of the largest mines move a half million tons of earth a day, pile it in mounds that can rival the Great Pyramids, and drizzle the ore with the poisonous solution for years. The scars of open-pit mining on this scale endure.
A months-long examination by The New York Times, including tours of gold mines in the American West, Latin America, Africa and Europe, provided a rare look inside an insular industry with a troubled environmental legacy and an uncertain future.
Some metal mines, including gold mines, have become the near-equivalent of nuclear waste dumps that must be tended in perpetuity. Hard-rock mining generates more toxic waste than any other industry in the United States, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. The agency estimated last year that the cost of cleaning up metal mines could reach $54 billion.
A recent report from the Government Accountability Office chastised the agency and said legal loopholes, corporate shells and weak federal oversight had compounded the costs and increased the chances that mining companies could walk away without paying for cleanups and pass the bill to taxpayers.
"Mining problems weren't considered a very high priority" in past decades, Thomas P. Dunne, the agency's acting assistant administrator for solid waste and emergency response, said in an interview. "But they are a concern now." With the costs and scrutiny of mining on the rise in rich countries, where the best ores have been depleted, 70 percent of gold is now mined in developing countries like Guatemala and Ghana. It is there, miners and critics agree, that the real battle over gold's future is being waged.
Gold companies say they are bringing good jobs, tighter environmental rules and time-tested technologies to their new frontiers. With the help of the World Bank, they have opened huge mines promising development. Governments have welcomed the investment.
But environmental groups say companies are mining in ways that would never be tolerated in wealthier nations, such as dumping tons of waste into rivers, bays and oceans. People who live closest to the mines say they see too few of mining's benefits and bear too much of its burden. In Guatemala and Peru, people have mounted protests to push miners out. Other communities are taking companies to court.
This month a Philippine province sued the world's fifth-largest gold company, Canada-based Placer Dome, charging that it had ruined a river, bay and coral reef by dumping enough waste to fill a convoy of trucks that would circle the globe three times.
Placer Dome, which also runs three major mines in Nevada, answered by saying that it had "contained the problem" and already spent $70 million in remediation and another $1.5 million in compensation.
Some in the industry have paused to consider whether it is worth the cost - to the environment, their bottom line or their reputations - to mine gold, which generates more waste per ounce than any other metal and yet has few industrial uses.
The world's biggest mining company, Australia-based BHP Billiton, sold its profitable Ok Tedi mine in Papua New Guinea in 2001 after having destroyed more than 2,400 acres of rainforest. Upon leaving, the company said the mine was "not compatible with our environmental values."
After tough lessons, other companies, like Newmont Mining, the world's largest gold producer, are paying for more schools and housing, trying harder to ease social problems around its mines.
"I don't think any of our members want to be associated with a bad operation - notwithstanding it would hurt their ability to open new facilities," said Carol L. Raulston, spokeswoman for the National Mining Association. "News goes around the world quickly now and there is no place to hide."
Critics say corporate miners have been cloistered from scrutiny because of their anonymity to consumers, unlike, say, oil companies, which also extract resources but hang their name over the pump.
Last year the mine watchdog group Earthworks began a "No Dirty Gold" campaign, marching protesters in front of fashionable Fifth Avenue storefronts, trying to change gold mining by lobbying gold consumers.
"They just said to ask where the gold was coming from and whether it caused social or environmental damage," said Michael E. Conroy, senior lecturer and research scholar at the Yale University School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. "The repercussions in the mining media were huge - some said it was all lies, but retailers began to realize what their vulnerability was."
Mr. Kowalski, Tiffany's chairman, has tried to stay ahead of the controversy. He has broken new ground by buying Tiffany's gold from a mine in Utah that does not use cyanide.
But the largest sellers of gold are not luxury outlets like his, but rather Wal-Mart stores, and even Mr. Kowalski, a trustee of the Wildlife Conservation Society, hesitated to call any gold entirely "clean."
Asia's Insatiable Appetite
Amrita Raj, a 25-year-old bride, was shopping for her wedding trousseau on a recent Saturday in New Delhi. There was a "wedding set" to be bought that day, with its requisite gold necklace, matching earrings and two sets of bangles.
For the sake of family honor, the new in-laws would have to receive gold gifts as well - a "light set" for the mother-in-law, plus a gold ring or a watch for the bridegroom, and earrings for a sister-in-law.
"Without gold, it's not a wedding - at least not for Indians," Ms. Raj said. For thousands of years, gold has lent itself to ceremony and celebration. But now old ways have met new prosperity. The newly moneyed consumers who line the malls of Shanghai and the bazaars of Mumbai sent jewelry sales shooting to a record $38 billion this year, according to the World Gold Council, the industry trade group.
Over the last year, sales surged 11 percent in China and 47 percent in India, a country of a billion people whose seemingly insatiable appetite for gold - for jewelry, temples and dowries - has traditionally made it gold's largest consumer.
That kind of demand leads many in and out of the industry to argue that gold's value is cultural and should not be questioned. The desire to hoard gold is not limited to households in India or the Middle East, either.
The United States, the world's second-largest consumer of gold, is also the world's largest holder of gold reserves. The government has 8,134 tons secured in vaults, about $122 billion worth. The Federal Reserve and other major central banks renewed an agreement last year to severely restrict sales from their reserves, offering, in effect, a price support to gold. That price is not simply a matter of supply and demand, but of market psychology. Gold is bought by anxious investors when the dollar is weak and the economy uncertain. That is a big reason for gold's high price today. For miners that price determines virtually everything - where gold is mined, how much is mined, and how tiny are the flecks worth going after.
"You can mine gold ore at a lower grade than any other metal," said Mike Wireman, a mine specialist at the Denver office of the E.P.A. "That means big open pits. But it must also be easy and cheap to be profitable, and that means cyanide."
That kind of massive operation can be seen at Yanacocha, a sprawling mine in northern Peru run by Newmont. In a region of pastures and peasants, the rolling green hills have been carved into sandy-colored mesas, looking more like the American West than the Andean highlands.
Mountains have been systematically blasted, carted off by groaning trucks the size of houses and restacked into ziggurats of chunky ore. These new man-made mountains are lined with irrigation hoses that silently trickle millions of gallons of cyanide solution over the rock for years. The cyanide dissolves the gold so it can be separated and smelted.
At sites like Yanacocha, one ounce of gold is sprinkled in 30 tons of ore. But to get at that ore, many more tons of earth have to be moved, then left as waste. At some mines in Nevada, 100 tons or more of earth have to be excavated for a single ounce of gold, said Ann Maest, a geochemist who consults on mining issues.
Mining companies say they are meeting a demand and that this kind of gold mining, called cyanide heap leaching, is as good a use of the land as any, or better.
Cyanide is not the only option. But it is considered the most cost-effective way to retrieve microscopic bits of "invisible gold." Profit margins are too thin, miners say, and the gold left in the world too scarce to mine it any other way.
"The heap is cheaper," said Shannon W. Dunlap, an environmental manager with Placer Dome. "Our ore wouldn't work without the heap."
But much of those masses of disturbed rock, exposed to the rain and air for the first time, are also the source of mining's multibillion-dollar environmental time bomb. Sulfides in that rock will react with oxygen, making sulfuric acid.
That acid pollutes and it also frees heavy metals like cadmium, lead and mercury, which are harmful to people and fish even at low concentrations. The chain reaction can go on for centuries.
Many industry officials, reluctant to utter the word pollution, protest that much of what they leave behind is not waste at all but ground-up rock. The best-run mines reclaim land along the way, they say, "capping" the rock piles with soil and using lime to try to forestall acid generation.
But stopping pollution forever is difficult. Even rock piles that are capped, in an attempt to keep out air and rain, can release pollutants, particularly in wet climates.
Cyanide can present long-term problems, too. Most scientists agree that cyanide decomposes in sunlight and is not dangerous if greatly diluted. But a study by the United States Geological Survey in 2000 said that cyanide can convert to other toxic forms and persist, particularly in cold climates. And just as cyanide dissolves gold out of the rock, it releases harmful metals, too.
There have also been significant accidents involving cyanide. From 1985 to 2000, more than a dozen reservoirs containing cyanide-laden mine waste collapsed, the United Nations Environment Program reported.
The most severe disaster occurred in Romania in 2000, when mine waste spilled into a tributary of the Danube River, killing more than a thousand tons of fish and issuing a plume of cyanide that reached 1,600 miles to the Black Sea.
That spill led to calls for the gold industry to improve its handling of cyanide. After five years of discussion, the industry unveiled a new code this month. It sets standards for transporting and storing cyanide and calls on companies to submit to inspections by a new industry body.
But the cyanide code is voluntary and not enforced by government. And Glenn Miller, a professor of environmental science at the University of Nevada, says it does not adequately deal with one of mining's most important, unattended questions: What happens when the mine closes?

Scientists Bridle at Lecture Plan for Dalai Lama
October 19, 2005
By BENEDICT CAREY
The Dalai Lama, the exiled leader of Tibet who is revered as a spiritual teacher, is at the center of a scientific controversy.
He has been an enthusiastic collaborator in research on whether the intense meditation practiced by Buddhist monks can train the brain to generate compassion and positive thoughts. Next month in Washington, the Dalai Lama is scheduled to speak about the research at the annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience.
But 544 brain researchers have signed a petition urging the society to cancel the lecture, because, according to the petition, "it will highlight a subject with largely unsubstantiated claims and compromised scientific rigor and objectivity."
Defenders of the Dalai Lama's appearance say that the motivation of many protesters is political, because many are Chinese or of Chinese descent. The Dalai Lama fled Tibet in 1959 after the Chinese crushed a Tibetan bid for independence.
But many scientists who signed the petition say they did so because they believe that the field of neuroscience risks losing credibility if it ventures too recklessly into spiritual matters.
"As the public face of neuroscience, we have a responsibility to at least see that research is replicated before it is promoted and highlighted," said Dr. Nancy Hayes, a neurobiologist at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey who objects to the Dalai Lama's speaking. "If we don't do that, we may as well be the Flat Earth Society."
In the past decade, scientists and journalists have increasingly taken interest in meditation and "mindfulness," a related state of focused inner awareness, topics once left to weekend mystics and religious retreats. The Dalai Lama has been working with a small number of researchers to study how the practice of Buddhist contemplation affects moods and promotes a sense of peace and compassion.
In one widely reported 2003 study, Dr. Richard Davidson of the University of Wisconsin-Madison led a team of researchers that found that 25 employees of a biotechnology company showed increased levels of neural activity in the left anterior temporal region of their brains after taking a course in meditation. The region is active during sensations of happiness and positive emotion, the researchers reported.
In a 2004 experiment supported by the Mind and Life Institute, a nonprofit organization that the Dalai Lama helped establish, and also involving Dr. Davidson, investigators tracked brain waves in eight Tibetan monks as they meditated in a state of "unconditional loving-kindness and compassion." Using an electronic scanner, the researchers found that the monks were producing a very strong pattern of gamma waves, a synchronized oscillation of brain cells that is associated with concentration and emotional control. A group of 10 college students who were learning to meditate produced a much weaker gamma signal.
Taken together, the studies suggest that "human qualities like compassion and altruism may in some sense be regarded as skills which can be improved through mental training," said Dr. Davidson, who is director of the Laboratory for Affective Neuroscience at the University of Wisconsin.
Yet the neuroscientists who have signed the petition say that there are several problems with this research. First, they say, Dr. Davidson and some of his colleagues meditate themselves, and they have collaborated with the Dalai Lama for years. Dr. Davidson said he had helped persuade the spiritual leader to accept the society's invitation to speak, and was with him when he received the request.
The critics also point out that there are flaws in the 2004 experiment that the researchers have acknowledged: The monks being studied were 12 to 45 years older than the students, and age could have accounted for some of the differences. The students, as beginners, may have been anxious or simply not skilled enough to find a meditative state in the time allotted, which would alter their brain wave patterns. And there was no way to know if the monks were adept at generating high gamma wave activity before they ever started meditating.
"This paper has not tested the idea whether meditation promotes compassion or any kind of positive emotion," Dr. Yi Rao, a neuroscientist at Northwestern University who helped draft the petition and was one of the sharpest critics, said in an e-mail message.
"Nonetheless, advocates of Buddhism and meditation have confused the public with the claim that this idea has received scientific proof," Dr. Rao said. "If one reads the published scientific literature, it is not difficult to see that this claim is far from being proven. It will not hurt if the public also realizes that some researchers are declared believers playing dual roles as advocates and researchers."
In a telephone interview, Dr. Davidson said that the critics' assertions were overblown, given that the field of study was in its infancy and the studies so far had been exploratory.
"I wouldn't consider myself a Buddhist or a card-carrying zealot at all," Dr. Davidson said. "My first commitment is as a scientist to uncover the truth about all this."
He said it was "ridiculous" to suggest that neuroscientists should shy away from topics just because they were difficult to study. Many of his colleagues agree.
"This research is a first pass on a new topic, and you just can't do perfect science the first time through," said Dr. Robert Wyman, a neurobiologist at Yale. "You get curious about something and you mess around. That's what science is in the beginning, you mess around."
Fair enough, say some scientists who have signed the petition, but neuroscientists must be extra careful with such subjects. The field is already trying to manage a deeply mystifying presence: the brain, which in some ways is still as dark as deepest space.
The scientists point out that scans showing areas of the brain that light up during emotions like jealousy or guilt are fascinating but that their significance is still unclear. And in their laboratories, some investigators who plan to attend the neuroscience meetings are trying to find the neural traces of consciousness itself, a notoriously disorienting quest that has led more than one enterprising scientist into a philosophical fog.
"Neuroscience more than other disciplines is the science at the interface between modern philosophy and science," wrote one neuroscientist on the petition, Dr. Zvani Rossetti of the University of Cagliari in Italy. He added, "No opportunity should be given to anybody to use neuroscience for supporting transcendent views of the world."
One thing certain about the Dalai Lama's scheduled talk is that he will not lack for an audience. Neuroscientists around the world have been intensely debating the event, and Dr. Carol Barnes, president of the neuroscience society, says she will not cancel the talk or change the schedule. "The practice of meditation is a human behavior, and the Dalai Lama is extraordinarily skilled at it and at promoting qualities of peace and compassion that I thought could bring us together," said Dr. Barnes, a professor of psychology and neurology at the University of Arizona who invited the Dalai Lama to speak last February. "That's not the way it's gone so far."

Subject: Bush Psychiatric Screening Story Gets Project Censored Award
Exposing President Bush's Plans for Massive Psychiatric Screening of the USA Wins a "Project Censored" Alternative Media Award
Project Censored is considered the "alternative Pulitzer Prize" by some journalists. This Saturday, 22 Oct., Project Censored awarded the "Top 25 Censored Stories of 2006" -- important news that mainstream media covers up.
Number 11 in the Top 25 is journalist Jeanne Lenzer whose series of articles in the _British Medical Journal_ showed how President Bush is calling for "mental health screening" for children and adults in the USA in a plan that could result in hundreds of thousands of more citizens being placed on psychiatric drugs without adequate protection of human rights.
Even though President Bush calls for making this psychiatric screening "common practice" throughout the USA the corporate mainstream media has largely refused to inform their readers.
BELOW is the forwarded announcement from Project Censored including an UPDATE from Jeanne Lenzer:
#11 Universal Mental Screening Program Usurps Parental Rights
Asheville Global Report (British Medical Journal), No. 284, June 24-30, 2004
Title: "Bush Plans To Screen Whole U.S. Population For Mental Illness"
Author: Jeanne Lenzer
Truth News, September 13, 2004
Title: "Forcing Kids Into a Mental Health Ghetto"
Congressman Ron Paul
In April of 2002, President Bush appointed a 22 member commission called the President's New Freedom Commission on Mental Health in order to "identify policies that could be implemented by Federal, State and local governments to maximize the utility of existing resources, improve coordination of treatments and services, and promote successful community integration for adults with a serious mental illness and children with a serious emotional disturbance."1 Members of this commission include physicians in the mental health field and at least one (Robert N. Postlethwait) former employee of pharmaceutical giant Ely Lilly and Co.
In July of 2003 the commission published the results of their study. They found that mental health disorders often go undiagnosed and recommended to the President that there should be more comprehensive screening for mental illnesses for people of all ages, including pre-school age children. In accordance with their findings, the commission recommended that schools were in a "key position" to screen the 52 million students and 6 million adult employees of our nation's schools.2
The commission also recommended linking the screenings with treatment and support. They recommended using the Texas Medication Algorithm Project (TMAP) as a model treatment system.3 TMAP, which was implemented in Texas' publicly funded mental health care system while George W. Bush was governor of Texas,4 is a disease management program that aids physicians in prescribing drugs to patients based on clinical history, background, symptoms, and previous results. It was the first program in the United States aimed at establishing medication guidelines for treating mental health illnesses.5 Basically, it is an algorithm that recommends specific drugs which should be used to treat specific diseases. Funding for TMAP was provided by a Robert Wood-Johnson Grant as well as several major drug companies. The project began in 1995 as an alliance of individuals from pharmaceutical companies, the University of Texas, and the mental health and corrections systems of Texas.6
Critics of mental health screening and TMAP claim that it is a payoff to Pharmaceutical companies. Many cite Allen Jones, a former employee of the Pennsylvania Office of the Inspector General. He was fired when he revealed that many key officials who have influence over the medication plan in his state received monetary perks and benefits from pharmaceutical companies, which benefited from their drugs being in the medication algorithm. TMAP also promotes the use of newer, more expensive anti-psychotic drugs. Results of studies conducted in the United States and Great Britain found that using the older, more established anti-psychotic drugs as a front line treatment rather than the newer experimental drugs makes more sense. Under TMAP, the Ely Lilly drug olanzapine, a new atypical antipsychotic drug, is used as a first line treatment rather than a more typical anti-psychotic medication. Perhaps it is because Ely Lilly has several ties to the Bush family, where George Bush Sr. was a member of the board of directors. George W. Bush also appointed Ely Lilly C.E.O. Sidney Taurel to a seat on the Homeland Security Council. Of Ely Lilly's $1.6 million political contributions in 2000, 82 percent went to Republicans and George W. Bush.7
In November of 2004, Congress appropriated $20 million8 to implement the findings of the New Freedom Commission on Mental Health. This would include mandatory screening by schools for mental health illnesses. Congressman Ron Paul, R-Texas introduced an amendment to the appropriations bills which would withhold funding for mandatory mental health screenings and require parental consent and notification. His amendment, however, was voted down by a wide margin (95-315 in the House of Representatives).9 Paul, a doctor and long-time member of the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) states, "At issue is the fundamental right of parents to decide what medical treatment is appropriate for their children. The notion of federal bureaucrats ordering potentially millions of youngsters to take psychotropic drugs like Ritalin strikes an emotional chord with American parents." Paul says the allegation "that we have a nation of children with undiagnosed mental disorders crying out for treatment is patently false," and warns that mental health screening could be used to label children whose attitudes, religious beliefs, and political views conflict with established doctrine. Paul further warns that an obvious major beneficiary of this legislation is the pharmaceutical industry. The AAPS has decried this legislation, which they say will lead to mandatory psychological testing of every child in America without parental consent, and "heap even more coercive pressure on parents to medicate children with potentially dangerous side effects."
Update by Jeanne Lenzer:
Whether it's the pills we take or the oil we use, it would be reassuring to know that the information used to develop new medicines or to utilize natural resources wisely is based on science--not corporate spin.
But blandishments from Big Pharma to politicians and doctors have a profound effect on health care in the U.S., making medical research closer to propaganda than science at times.
One way drug companies, in collusion with doctors, increase their market share is to expand the definition of diseases. When diagnostic criteria were liberalized for attention deficit disorder in 1991, the number of children diagnosed jumped by about 60 percent.
The American Psychiatric Association (APA) acknowledged in the July 2004 issue of Advocacy News that, "The BMJ story has gained some traction in derivative reports on the Internet." But, they boasted, "mainstream media have not touched the story, in part thanks to APA's work, for which the [Bush] Administration is appreciative."10
The APA's boast is curious. The article was the most downloaded article in the history of the BMJ. It clearly struck a nerve with a public wary of doctors and politicians whose pockets are lined with drug company money.
Given the interest in the BMJ story, it would seem that the APA, instead of attempting to keep the story out of the mainstream media, would be anxious to counter the widely circulated statements in the article. It would also seem that the mainstream press could provide the Administration and the APA the best possible vehicle to counter these supposed factual errors in the BMJ article.
But, the facts might prove difficult to square with the public. More than one in every 100 toddlers and preschoolers in the United States are on powerful psychiatric drugs, such as Ritalin and Prozac, according to a study published in the February 2000 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association.
Joseph T. Coyle, M.D., wrote in an accompanying editorial, "It appears that behaviorally disturbed children are now increasingly subjected to quick and inexpensive pharmacologic fixes, as opposed to informed mutimodal therapy." He concluded, "These disturbing prescription practices suggest a growing crisis in mental health services to children and demand more thorough investigation."
But instead of issuing warnings about overmedication or inappropriate prescribing, the experts on the New Freedom Commission warn ominously that too few children are receiving treatment for mental illness. They cite escalating numbers of toddlers expelled from daycare as evidence of potentially serious psychological problems--problems to be diagnosed and cured with mental health screening and pills. Social and economic reasons for the rise in kiddie expulsions are left unexamined.
As bad as this is for those put on drugs and labeled "mentally ill," the far bigger concern is the creation of a disease for every drug, a situation made possible by the hand-in-glove relationship between industry and the government.

We're Finally In The Higher Realms To Stay
October 23, 2005
October 22 brought in the peak of another turning point energy. This energy asked us, Which way will you go? What are you willing to let go of? What have you had ENOUGH of? Are you ready to leap off the cliff and fall into the higher realms?. This turning point was just one of many in the on-going see-saw process of our evolution into the higher realms.
We have been in this type of energetic turning point before
.it basically symbolizes choices that all souls must make in regard to staying and becoming a part of the higher realms, or staying behind as some may not yet be ready, or perhaps some have chosen to leave the planet through physical death in lieu of ascending through the body.
This turning point offered us the opportunity to make our choices from a higher dimensional perspective, as that is certainly where we are now residing. In the higher realms we are able to see above or through the illusions of the old 3D reality. This higher energy is enabling us to see each other for who we really are
.without the old 3D masks and illusions of issues we may be operating through. This time and this reality is absolutely amazing.
And miracles are abounding. When we are ready to trust and finally know that we can have what we have always envisioned, it most certainly gets us there. These higher vibrations we are now residing in since reaching critical mass are enabling many miraculous things to occur indeed. And when they begin to happen, we begin to trust, and this in turn leads to even more miracles as we find ourselves in a state of allowing.
Many are experiencing divine miracles in regard to relationships with the opposite sex. How the masculine and feminine are now interacting is a true indicator that we have reached the higher realms. Many are uniting with their perfect mates. The masculine is now truly supporting the feminine. This amazing and beautiful dance of the sexes is creating a New male
.one that loves, nurtures, supports and is radically THERE for the feminine. This is allowing the feminine to greatly open and bring forth the feminine energy. Women can now feel oh so totally free to express who they are and to bring forth this divine feminine energy as they no longer need to protect themselves or embody any defensive posture. (Thank you men
we are loving it!)
The group energy of the higher realms is also beginning to become a glorious reality as well. As we let go of fears, doubts, and negative thinking, we find ourselves in an amazing place where we are coming together with very little ego and in this state of being, we allow our soul groups to congeal. Shared housing of mutual and loving support in various geographical locations is FINALLY becoming a reality. We are so able to see now the old illusions we were carrying of density and of a fog that disallowed us to remember who we were. Yes, the veil has been lifted.
This turning point energy that feels like upheaval means that we are rapidly approaching another sorting and sifting point
..it means that a Newer and stronger energy will be arriving shortly and this Newer energy will assist in pushing things forward in regard to the decisions that were made (either consciously or at soul levels). Sifting and sorting. Leaving the lower dimensional reality behind. Will you stay behind or move ahead? Will you allow radical trust to take you where your soul desires that you be? Will you allow yourself to remember that decisions need not be made for reasons of money? Will you allow yourself to be in this most incredible space that allows for magical things to unfold? Will you allow yourself to get out of the way, to quit trying to make everything happen yourself
..to quit trying to carry that big burden of responsibility that is wearing you out, and open to ! receiving the love and support that arrives with your arrival in the higher realms?
After reaching critical mass in August, a re-calibration period ensued, which resulted in the roadblock energy. We seemed to be unable to move forward, no matter what we did. Things were not ready yet. The necessary energetic climate that we were requiring was not there for us to move into. Then in October, the moving ahead energy finally arrived and it is still here
This moving ahead energy created much for us to do and some of us are tired. But we are tired from almost too much of too many good things! Things are manifesting right and left as miracles abound. Think something, and it miraculously appears. And the less emotion and importance and energy that we surround something in, the more quickly it will appear.
So you may be feeling a bit frazzled, over-loaded, over-stimulated and hectic as we are finally putting together all of the steps required of us to become ready for JANUARY. JANUARY. JANUARY. A very important and pivotal month. We are nearing the end of this year of destruction of 2005
.the year when much needed to leave; the year of many great changes. The year of much sifting and sorting. The year of making choices. The year of the greatest changes in the physical that we had yet to experience, as it was finally time.
So as we have finally let go of so much and have finally reached levels of critical mass (the majority of the time through an intense discontent which provided the lift off and desire to be somewhere else), we are now beginning very New phases and actively putting them into place at this time. We are preparing for January, as all must be in order and in place for 2006. We must be tucked in and cemented into our New positions in a way that does not allow for any upheaval or wavering of our spots or roles. We must be very grounded and very steady in the higher realms, as more upheaval and loss of the old reality will continue on.
Staying in the higher realms reminds me of the movie What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams. Near the end of the movie, his character goes back to try and retrieve his wife from the darkness where she ended up after committing suicide. It became tricky, as the longer he stayed there, the harder it was for him to re-access the higher realms. Listening to others who are still in old 3D thinking and ways of being, and doubting and negative thinking can very easily place us back in the darkness and the lower realms. And as we spend more and more time with our soul families, we will support and encourage each other through positive thinking and great reinforcement of this higher realms way of being.
We will get used to and come to expect miracles. We will remind and support each other in the ways of intending and expecting what we desire. We will send out energy ahead of us in order to pave the way for our arrival
we will consciously create what WE want, instead of the old ways of taking what is being given to us. And as we build great energy and creating power through the law of more than one coming together, it can become an exciting time indeed!
If you are not having an experience of connecting with others in the higher realms, please feel free to read the latest messages on this website, as they will serve to remind you of life in the higher realms until you are able to spend more and more time there yourself. And know that all that I have spoken of here is a reality for me
it is not something that I am seeing and desiring and writing in order to cheer you up. These things are my world and I am sure are the world of others as well.
We are also finding that yoga is serving an amazing and almost necessary role in maintaining and supporting our existence in the higher realms. It is the form of yoga that involves stretching and holding postures in a loving and gentle way using breath. This practice greatly enhances our ability to stabilize and maintain the energies of the higher realms within us. I am finding that I need to practice it every day
..it makes an incredible difference. And we are also finding that there is a New form of yoga, yet unnamed that is developing as a way to connect to our souls or higher selves, as well as serving to maintain and embody that connection to the higher realms.
Can you feel them? Can you feel these incredible energies of love and gratitude? Do they make you cry when you see and experience anything not of the highest ways, as you are nowhere near that reality anymore and it feels so painful? Do they make you cry when you experience amazing heights of higher vibrational reality as you feel so blessed?
Wishing you Heaven in your heart, starlight in your soul, and miracles in your life in these miraculous times. Until next time,
