ANCHORING THE REALITY OF A HEALED PLANET EARTH

1. SUMMARY

As we are all too aware, our world is besieged with a great number of growing calamities that threaten to engulf even Life Itself. Intransigent, self-righteous belief systems, whether it is in the sphere of politics, economics, religion or even science are causing billions of people to pursue activities that, in the long run, could ultimately create intolerable environmental havoc, misery and death for all but the most resilient life forms on Earth. Often the reaction of those amongst us who are at liberty to do so is to protest, often vigorously, those who perpetuate the status quo for the benefit of a powerful minority. There will be such protests next week in Quebec City where leaders of 34 democratic countries from North, Central and South Americas will convene to discuss their economic integration in a Free Trade Area of the Americas, as part of a worldwide globalization trend that could eventually prove to be an excellent idea, if it was not for the fundamental values and goals presiding to its implementation. Profit-driven imperatives and political expediencies aimed at reinforcing the powers of a governing elite as well as some geostrategic considerations seem to be the main common denominators guiding globalization, not social equity, environmental sustainability and the general wellbeing of the entire community of Life on Earth.

It has been said that there is nothing more potent than the power of an idea whose time has come. Just as the universe we see is the resulting manifestation of an idea in the mind of Creator, the world we have today is the result of what we think it is. And just as clearly, the world of tomorrow can be -- and will be -- entirely different when humanity as a whole begins to think a new different way of life devoid of the learning errors of the past and more in sync with our true spiritual nature as living sparks of the One that spawned All That Is. The time has come to co-create and manifest the new world of our wildest dreams, a world where the true meaning of unconditional Love, proactive compassion and permanent inner and outer peace is intimately known and spontaneously acted upon by all. We are all endowed with the same creative abilities of our common Originator by the very fact of our indissociable participation to Its eternal existence. It is simply a matter of realizing Who We Are and emanating from within the common Self-Awareness of our One collective field of Unity the vision and already existing Reality of a healed planet Earth for the manifestation of this mighty idea to inevitably unfold until its perfect and absolute completion in the very next few years.

Please dedicate your prayers and meditations, as guided by Spirit, in the coming two weeks to facilitate the global emergence within the heart and soul of every human being of the aspiration and will to align with the new higher order of reality that is now transpiring around the world through all sorts of channels and activities of the Light. Allow this emerging Source of Oneness to permeate your whole being and let this vibration of Unity radiate towards all Life on Earth in an all-embracing communion of Love, for the Highest Good of All.

3. MORE INFORMATION ON THIS MEDITATION FOCUS

This section is for those who wish to understand in more detail the situation of this week's Meditation Focus. For those who wish to read on, we would encourage you to view the following information from a positive perspective, and not allow the details to tinge the positive vision you wish to hold in meditation. Since what we focus on grows, the more positive our mindset, the more successful we will be in manifesting a vision of healing. We provide the details below because we recognise that the knowledge of what needs healing can assist us to structure our awareness to maximise our healing effect.

There will be a Summit of the Americas in Quebec City, Canada, on April 20-22. -- a meeting of heads of state and trade ministers representing every country in the Western Hemisphere except socialist Cuba. Thousands of people from all over Canada, the U.S. and the world will converge in Quebec City and numerous other cities, in what will be another manifestation of a worldwide anti-globalization and anti-capitalist movement.

Here is a brief summary of what is at stake:

From: http://www.left2rdevices.com/

Trade Impact -- In a Nutshell:

Sadly, there is no agreement on the best strategy for ensuring that human rights do indeed have practical and not just theoretical influence over trade rules. As we all know, it’s easy to say that you care, but it’s much harder to actually prove it. Corporations and some government’s use the language of fair trade, environmental protection and human rights to their own advantage, but do we really think that they are all going to follow through? Yeah, right. Corporations will almost always choose the cheaper choice. That’s why we need rules that stick.

Improving human rights, people’s standard of living, environmental protections, etc should be the goal of trade policy, not just economic growth or lower tariffs. The objective should be more access for more people to civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights. That’s what people want and that’s what people need, not more rich corporate executives with fat wallets.

The challenge facing all of us concerned residents of the planet and the question that we need to answer is, "how do we influence the process of globalization in such a way that human suffering, poverty, exploitation, exclusion and discrimination are eradicated?" Since trade is the driving engine of globalization, it’s critical that the rules don’t violate human rights (Duh!) but rather promote and protect them.

Democracy, Democracy, Democracy! Who elects these corporate committees who are going to be making life changing decisions for people all over the planet? Who will these people be accountable to? Nobody, that’s who! That is a pretty scary proposition.

Globalization doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Globalization could be all about people working together internationally to solve problems and making all of our lives better. It could be about the acceptance and the willingness to share resources, and ensure that all people have the right to food, shelter, education, healthcare and fair work.

But….Governments have to be prepared to confront the multinational corporations who are trying so hard to ensure world domination. And they won’t do so until we vote them out of office for taking the corporate buck and kissing the corporate ass.

Obviously, however we decide to address the problem, it’s important that the process be inclusive, transparent, democratic and participatory. In other words, the exact opposite of what it is now.

New Clashes As Sharon Sets Conditions (Friday April 13)

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon favors a long-term interim deal with the Palestinians that would give them a far smaller and weaker state than they demand, according to an interview published on Friday. But heightened tensions after an alleged Israeli attempt to assassinate an activist of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement in the West Bank and new clashes in Gaza have made talk of peacemaking seem like empty words.

CLIP

Stating publicly what his aides have said, Sharon told the Maariv newspaper he could accept a Palestinian state on some 42 percent of the West Bank. With another Israeli withdrawal in the West Bank, such as the one promised in a 1998 interim peace accord, ``it's possible to reach 42 percent, plus or minus,'' he told the newspaper. That is only a little bit more than the West Bank land in which Palestinians already have full or partial control under interim peace deals going back seven years. As before, Sharon conditioned any peace talks on an end to violence that has raged for nearly seven months in a Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation.

CLIP

Sharon Sees Demilitarised Palestinian State

In the newspaper interview, Sharon said a Palestinian state would have to be demilitarized and its police forces armed only to maintain order, while Israel would for years oversee the external borders and be free to fly over the territory. He has said he can envisage only a long-term agreement of non-belligerency with the Palestinians, not a final peace deal. Palestinians have already ruled out establishing a state on anything less than all of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip -- lands that Israel captured in the 1967 Middle East war.

Why the Middle East Keeps Dragging Bush Back

In The administration's hands-off approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is showing strain, argues TIME.com's Tony Karon. Left to their own devices, the two sides could burn the house down.

Tuesday, Apr. 10, 2001

The unlikeliest beneficiary of the China-U.S. standoff has probably been Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon — because it has mostly displaced the increasingly alarming spectacle of Israel's attempts to bomb its way out of a security crisis from U.S. headlines. Almost every day for the last two weeks, Israeli tanks, mortars and helicopter gunships have rained shells on Gaza and the West Bank whenever Palestinians have fired rifles and mortars at Israelis or detonated bombs in their midst. And neither side has shown any sign of letting up.

In fact, the Israelis insist they're not simply retaliating — their policy is to intensify attacks on targets associated with the Palestinian Authority until Yasser Arafat's administration reins in Palestinian gunmen and bombers. "Palestinian security installations will be considered targets as long as security forces fail to prevent attacks on Israelis," said Sharon spokesman Raanan Gissin last week. Israel's internal security minister Uzi Landau added that "the price we will extract from the Palestinian Authority will be intolerable."

CLIP

The situation is plainly increasingly volatile, and that's got to be a concern for the Bush administration. Washington quietly restored the CIA's role in supervising efforts to restore and improve security cooperation between the two sides after having initially attempted to retreat from that role, mandated by President Clinton after the 1998 Wye River talks. But the danger of combining behind-the-scenes dialogue with a heavy-handed security response were evident last week when the car carrying Palestinian security chief Mohammed Dahlan and a number of aides was fired on by Israeli forces at the entrance to Gaza, while returning home from a meeting with their Israeli counterparts. Israel later apologized for the incident.

Unsettled by settlements

And alarm bells plainly began ringing in Washington late last week when Israel announced plans to expand two West Bank settlements. The State Department immediately denounced the move as provocative and urged Israel to reconsider. And it's plain to see why: The settlements are illegal under international law, and their future had been subject to negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority under the Oslo Agreement. More important, perhaps, they're a hot-button issue throughout the region, where they're taken as a sign of an unacceptable Israeli expansion into Arab lands.
